I did standing room yesterday. Got there a little after 2 and was 4th in line.
My sis did it the Fri before Good Friday and went at 4. No one was in line. So returned at 5:15 and someone had just started the line just seconds before she got there, so she was 2nd in line. (Tho once lotto started at 5:30, the line grew quickly she said).
I went one Sat morning at about 10:10 am for mat (1pm sale) and was already 5th in line (and the line formed pretty quickly after me).
So seems to depend on the day.
Blockhead, I was there also for standing room. I didn't realize that curtain was earlier so I got there at about 5:15. I was about 25th in line. Didn't get a ticket. Am trying again next week. If you looked back in the line and saw a black guy, that was me!
I did standing room last night. I got there at about 4:45pm and was 5th on line. By 5pm however, the line was already about 15-20 people.

I did Standing room last night got there at about 4:45 and was 2nd on line.
By the time lotto rolled around the line was filled to the max and there were still more people lining up who I imagine didn't get SRO
You weren't really second... you kinda made yourself second. And you didn't really wait in line at all like the rest of us... it was kind of rude.
But I'm glad you had fun. Last nights show was a blast! :)

Well, I'd like to heare more JP.
I just think if you're gonna wait 3 hours for a ticket you should actually WAIT the three hours like everyone else. Don't just leave your jacket there and expect strangers to "hold your spot"...
Especially at a show like Mormon, where people are so desperate for a ticket. It's just not fair to those who are actually willing to wait the three hours.
Who has done Mormon SRO recently for a Saturday or Sunday matinee and what was it like?
Going to go for the matinee either this Saturday (4th) or Sunday (5th) and am wondering what a good time to get there would be...
It just keeps getting earlier and earlier. Friends and I got there at 2:40pm on Saturday and there were about 5-6 people already there.
The first time I ever did it on a Saturday I got there at 4pm and was first.
2 weeks ago I did standing room on a Tuesday. Got there around 3:00 and was 8th in line. After the lottery a girl starting chatting up the lady who was first in line and ended up talking her into getting her a standing room ticket. I was furious and called her out right in front of everyone. The people behind me didn't know what had happened and when they saw me yelling at her, they chimed in. We had asked the people ahead of us if all of a sudden they would have friends show up at 6:00 and we counted back and knew who was going to get the tickets. One guy won the lottery so he and his friend only bought one ticket a piece (They were initially getting 2 a piece). This girl had no shame even with people yelling at her. When I got to the window to buy my ticket the guy said that they don't tolerate people jumping in line. He said to speak to the security guy that shows up before the window opens or walk right up to the window. The security guy got there after she did so I figure he thought she was already in line. That last person who would have gotten a ticket was not happy.

I guess I got lucky.. I went on a Saturday matinee, lost lotto then decided to stupidly stand outside the theater while the crowd dissipated. I finally decided I'd try my luck in the SRO line. I probably got in line at 12:30 and got the 3rd to last ticket.
Anyone tried this lately? I was gonna go into the city tomorrow (Saturday) and try for both the matinee and evening - what time should I get there?
I am planning on being in New York on July 1. Considering it is a Friday of the Holiday weekend, how many hours before the show should I get there?
Dave that is hard to tell. I walked by the theater yesterday at about 2:00 and there were 8 people in line. I look at it this way, if you REALLY want to see this show, get there around 1:30 or 2:00 for an evening show. You should be ok.
Thanks. I was thinking about 2pm. Really want to catch this show while I am in town.
