"The Secret Garden", "Ragtime", "Carousel" and "The Light in the Piazza" - nothin gets better than those gems. They are my favorite; it depends on my mood.

I will probably warrant beating for this, but the 2-disc French version of "Notre Dame de Paris" is my absolute favorite. I know it has nothing to do with the score, but I simply cannot take the show with English lyrics.

THe most beautiful to me are "the light in the piazza""into the woods""the last five years""songs for a new world" and "marry Me A Little". I like most of Little women to.
Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long shot.

"The Secret Garden"- Nothing gets more beautiful than "A Bit of Earth", "Come to My Garden/Lift Me Up", "A Girl In A Valley", "Race You To The Top of The Morning", "Where In The World" and "How Could I Ever Know", those are some of the most beautiful and lush songs I've ever heard. When I hear Lily's glisen notes at the end of the FINALE and the beginning of the show, it stirs such amazing power in those few keys. Amazing.

bumping this
I don't know if it's the most beautiful score overall, but the most beautiful piece of music from a show I know is the postlude from the first act of The Apple Tree. That music is damn near transcendental it's so beautiful.

The Light in the Piazza, hands down. Beautiful is one of the first words to come to mind when I think of that show.

West Side Story, Sound of music. They are both just lush and pretty. Ther's a difference for me in finding a show incredibly interesting, and thinking it is beauiful.
