Posted: 9/2/06 at 10:27pmI will probably warrant beating for this, but the 2-disc French version of "Notre Dame de Paris" is my absolute favorite. I know it has nothing to do with the score, but I simply cannot take the show with English lyrics.

Posted: 9/3/06 at 9:29pm"The Secret Garden"- Nothing gets more beautiful than "A Bit of Earth", "Come to My Garden/Lift Me Up", "A Girl In A Valley", "Race You To The Top of The Morning", "Where In The World" and "How Could I Ever Know", those are some of the most beautiful and lush songs I've ever heard. When I hear Lily's glisen notes at the end of the FINALE and the beginning of the show, it stirs such amazing power in those few keys. Amazing.

bumping this
I don't know if it's the most beautiful score overall, but the most beautiful piece of music from a show I know is the postlude from the first act of The Apple Tree. That music is damn near transcendental it's so beautiful.

Posted: 9/12/06 at 7:45pmWest Side Story, Sound of music. They are both just lush and pretty. Ther's a difference for me in finding a show incredibly interesting, and thinking it is beauiful.
