In my opinion, The Secret Garden has one of the lovliest, most powerful scores in the history of musical theater.
-Marie Christine
-Bernarda Alba
-A Little Night Music
-Sunday in the Park With George
-Passion
The Light in the Piazza and Passion.
Sunday in the Park is the only show which has made tears come out of my eyes in performance!
Passion is a close second, but didn't manage what Sunday did.
Left-field choice: Triumph of Love- I love Betty's song Serenity.
Going back to the original post- we would have had to be REALLY blessed to get the two most beautiful scores EVER in one season... No wonder oldies like me grumble!
CATS- Elaine Paige, Laurie Beechman & Dianne Pilkington rocked singing "Memory"
WICKED- "For Good" was wonderful with Idina & Kristin singing the song together
Beauty & The Beast- "A Change In Me" is fantastic! Sarah Litzsinger's voice is wonderful!
I think my top three (if I were to narrow it down) would be PARADE, Sunday in the Park with George, and PASSION. I think these three are absolutely perfect from start to finish. Bernarda Alba might be the runner-up. And, uh, Sweeney Todd and Ragtime, too. There are a lot of scores I love, but the ones I've mentioned strike me as being more perfectly complete and beautiful as a whole.

What's with all the multiple choices. There can only be one, "most beautiful". For me, RAGTIME.
Last Five Years
Light In The Piazza

There's something about Titanic that I just love.
