I was checking imdb and Aida and Footloose are both listed finally, you have to be subscribed to learn more about the two movies, but so far it says Footloose is to be released in 2009 and Aida in 2010!
It's likely Heather won't be asked, as she can't sell a film.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
"Heather who?" would be the question asked by the masses. And since this movie probably won't have names like Travolta and Pfeiffer to sell tickets, it's highly unlikely they'll cast a relative unknown in the lead.

I see BIG re-writes in the score for Aida. Both Father songs will be cut. Aida's first song will be rewritten and several new songs will be added for Beyonce and whatever pop-stars/actors are put in this thing. I hope they have a good director & script writer with vision or this could really tank.
Footloose - though the basic story is strong, I wonder if they'll set it in the 80's or today. I imagine (except for the title song) that this will have a totally new score. But if this is going to have Zac Effron running around in cornfields getting picked on by Midwest thugs, he better start working out. At least Kevin Bacon looked like he could fight back. They should just do it for the Disney Channel and spare the multiplex.
I love how people criticize Beyonce for acting, but she has years more legit experience than Jennifer Hudson AND Niki Blonski.
You don't have to watch this movie if you don't want to. You will utlimatly be disappointed. It's not like Heather Headley could act or even fill seats at a movie theatre. Beyonce is talented and a nice match.

I cant wait for both of these movies!!!!And.... I wouldnt mind seeing Beyonce in Aida. She isn't the greatest actress but her voice is powerfull enouph that I dont mind the cheesy acting!
For footloose I really hope they keep in the songs that they took from the original film, like Let's Hear it For The Boy, Somebody Eyes, and Holding Out For a Hero.

"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu
After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu

In an interview last year, Beyonce basically said that she had never really acted before in film before DREAMGIRLS. I think it helped in that movie that she essentially played a character who, as described by Jame Fox, as not having personality in her voice. I agree.
Heather Headley should be cast. She has gone platnum and was nominated for a Grammy for her R&B Cd so she isn't completely unknown. All I can say is that Beyonce would crack under vocal strain(Dance Of The Robe, can't sing cappella for begining of God's Love Nubia, Elaborate Lives) and would be terible on a complex charactor like Aida. Get a male star who's really big right now and you will be fine.
IMDbPro lists no casting information other than Beyonce being rumoured for 'Aida'. IMDbPro really doesn't seem to have that much information on films than normal IMDb most of the time...
I doubt the story of a Nubian pricess turned slave falling in love with an Egyptian war here will sell as much as John Travolta is drag.

Beyonce simply can't do Aida. She's not a strong enough actress to play a complex enough character. They could totally use Adam Pascal as Radames, that could be their star! He's big on broadway, he was perfect in RENT, which, not a lot of the names were known, but it still did wonderfully. Why do they need huge stars?
And are they joking for Paris Hilton as Amneris? I could see her in My Strongest Suit (ha) but she sucks.
And does that mean the other thing about Justin Timberlake as Radames is true too? God, farewell broadway.
