About 5 years ago, I did a thread on musicals set in New York City.

This time I thought it would be kind a fun to do this again, but this time Los Angeles, with all the film industry I imagine there would be one or two?

when will Jorge start reading before posting...
A Day in Hollywod / A Night in the Ukraine comes to mind immediately. Little Shop of Horrors I could have sworn was originally set in LA but was changed for the film version.

The source movie may have been set in LA, but the show opens with a number contrasting "Downtown" with "Uptown".
LA does indeed have a downtown with its own skid row, but it has no "Uptown". It spreads out in all directions from Downtown.
I've always imagined it taking place in some northeastern or northern Midwest city.
