It can be either a musical that hasn't been adapted yet or a musical that got a bad adaptation.
Personally, I'd like to see a film adaptation of the musical Ragtime.

Memphis, Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (with Douglas Carter Beane’s script), Next to Normal, Nice Work If You Can Get It and the King and I (get the Asian casting right)
Follies (to have a filmed record of the show, not necessarily because I think it would be a great movie)
Kinky Boots, the musical

Follies, though at this point I don't know how it could be suitably cast, and City of Angels.
In the Heights.
Just think it would adapt well.

I would LOVE to see Wicked as a movie. I’m not a big fan of the show, but I feel like the special effects would translate nicely on screen. I also feel that Once on This Island would be awesome on screen, especially with the gods and the little girl.

You all are wrong, only one show deserves the Hollywood treatment and that show is FREAKIN STARLIGHT EXPRESS! Here’s my dream team!
Director-Micheal Bay
Reworked lyrics and music-Chad Kroeger
Adapted screenplay-James Gunn
James Franco-Rusty
Bill Cosby-Poppa
Danny Masterson-Greaseball
Kevin Spacey-Electra
Seal-Coco/bobo
Randy Quaid-Expresso
Andy Dick-ICE
Scarlett Johansson-Turnov (enphasis on the Trans-Siberian railway)
Cupcakke-Manga
Louis C.K.-Brexit
And of course my favorite casting of all
Danielle Bregoli-Control/young child
The tag line for my movie is “DREAM BIG” and that’s just what my stellar cast of “second chances” are here to do. I will now accept my check for creating the most spectacular movie musical to ever to grace the silver screen, please and thank you.

Miss saigon would be amazing!! Hamilton too.
I'd love to see "Miss Saigon" & "Waitress" as musical films, as I think they would bought translate very well onscreen.
Parade

I didn't know I needed this and now I won't be able to live peacefully without seeing it come to life.
Aronofsky would make a very interesting film, but my pitch is this: Wes Anderson directs a film version starring Colin Meloy as Pierre with the rest of The Decemberists as the orchestra.
SUNSET BOULEVARD with Streisand.....twenty years ago. I'm having trouble casting it with a current actress in her fifties who could act and sing the hell out of the role.
In no apparent order:
1. La Cage Aux Follies
2. Parade
3. Spring Awakening
4. A Little Night Music

RAG TIME absolutely a must.
FOLLIES.....With reuniting and bringing back old time movie favorites of the 50's and 60's like Pat Boone, Ann Margaret, Tommy Sands, Connie Francis etc.
Follies and Miss Saigon (obviously), but so far no one’s mentioned Fun Home which, I think with the right team, would translate very well on the screen.

That talentless douche is not allowed anywhere near Comet x
The Secret Garden
Also, a new, better version of Phantom of the Opera
