"What an annoying thread."
and you added so much to it, thanks for your wonderful contribution
If i HAD to watch someone crap on stage, it'd be ruthie henshall. Or maybe Kaitlin Hopkins.

justme, ok, ok, fine. vereen pooping may be a little much, but i dont know who would ever pass up on a chance to see him in action!
See, I think the operative effective statement would be to say you'd watch him do NOTHING.
Yeah...I'd watch him come out on stage, stand there for five minutes or so...then very softly say "poop".

ehhh... "pooping" is a more exciting word than "nothing"

watching threads get hijacked like this is soo funny.
Lijay...I want to apologize for the threadjacking here.
All I can say in my defense is......"poop".

HAHAHAHA, justme, can we go and see Wicked together to hear Ben softly say "poop"???
HAHA. this poop talk is much better than me getting ganged up on for liking CHARITY.
Continue on with the poop talk, my darlings!

hey guys wasn't Ben Vereen in the original production of Sweet Charity and now he's in Wicked! Not really important or germaine to the tthread, just thought it was interesting...
Well, I am no fan of Wicked, so I wouldn't go there to see Vereen, but anywhere else is fine. What I'd really like to see is Vereen inn Pippin!!
Now, for all you Charity Haters out there...notice how I was able to say I did not enjoy Wicked and yet managed somehow to avoid sounding like a complete ass by insulting everything to do with the production?
try it...it's not so hard.
Who thinks I should change this threads title to THE BEN VEREEN POOP THREAD.. .?
I am like so like NOT a Vereen fan. And Wicked is like ok, but like it is not like the BEST and it is like not like the WORST show like ever. It is like ok. And like Charity is like not like that bad either.
oooh...your sarcasm is soooo good, Mister Matt.
Almost as good as......."poop".

I'm so surprised that Wicked fans haven't been ranting about Ben. I mean, how many threads have we seen about Rue? What about the real "star of stage and screen?"

lj, I'm SOOOO sorry for threadjacking!
Ok people Christina wasn't cast as a dancer.... Walter Bobbie even said the role has no need to be a dancer, and i agree with him. Christina Applegate get through her dances with ease but is it her fault that she doesn't have the most exciting or challenging choreo. on Broadway. Her voice is excellent for the role, it makes you love Charity because she is so sweet and cute and totally niave. An finally her comedic acting is one of the best currently on Broadway. I think this all comes down to what type of show you like.
Like the one review says "This show doesn't need to hide behind a flying car"..........or witches for that matter! ( I like chitty so emcee don'y hate me)

^ I completely agree.
And Tag, it's okay! Threadjacking is cool.
oh God, don't bring up Walter Bobbie or Wayne Cilento....a whole new set of posters will be here soon to bash them for living. And for attempting to bring this show to a new generation of audience members. God Forbid.

Don't you think Sutton would have made a better Charity? Now I'm sure she's a better dancer and singer and comedianne than Christina!
Ben Vereen would have made a better Charity.

mayeb if they replace christina with Brooke Shields, it worked for the last show in the Hirschfield.
Christina trained in dance until her 20's.
I'm sorry, but I doubt Sutton has the dance training that Christina has.
And lets not forget Christina is an Emmy winning Actress, a Golden Globe nominated Actress. She is one heck of an actress. And now she can add a Tony nom a Drama desk nom, and 2005 Theatre World Award to that list.
