Yay dance off sounds fun!
"if there's a dance off, I got dibs on Charolette. She'd wipe the floor with christina and brooke."
I want Charlotte
Fine, I'll bring back Gwen.
now calm down....I believe thenardier is only questioning your opinion of Brooke not being right for Charity. I don't know if he didn't realize that you are a Brooke fan, anyway.
But, if I may try to intercede here, I think he only wants to know why you question Brooke as not right for Charity, yet don't like when others question Christina as not right for Charity.
Now, I KNOW how you feel about it, but not everyone does!!
Of course, you two have a history of nasty posts back and forth, don't you?
Well, I've been posting about Brooke for a while, and she's listed in my profile under favorite stars.
Nard, has had nothing to say but nasty stuff about Christina, and hasn't even seen her.
But on with the dance off!!!!!!!!!!
Well, in your own words, "If you knew ****, I'm a Brooke fan." But I do like Christina.
I am not questioning her acting. I am just saying that I have seen her dance and heard her sing...and yes, it is OK. But then you zoom out a bit and look at all the other talent that can sing and dance and you realize, "she is not right for this."
Then again, the whole concept is in the wrong direction - and I am not even talking about Bobbie, Long, etc.
Ok, we'll start with Charlotte dancing to Thriller...hit it!
I just don't understand why you wont see the show live, then judge it? She is nothing live like she is on tv performances. Chita is really impressed with her dancing after the stuff I showed him.
yay! go Charlotte.

I like how you just completely back tracked in that statement.
I would see it. And I want to see it.
But now, I have no more time.
Charlotte dancing to Thriller.
Will she wear one glove?

Charlotte is sans glove, and in fact, Gwen Verdon has joined the dance, as one of the dead brackground dancers.
Additional information for whoever needs it.
Christina went through a big audition and all the creative team was impressed with her. AND she had a 3 hour private SINGING audition with Cy Coleman and he felt she really had it for the role, and told his friends that he was REALLY excited for her in the role.
NOW. DANCE OFF!
Hey hey hey! No arguing during Thriller.

Since I'm just now seeing this thread...back to the drama!!
My last time seeing Wicked was not a good one. Perhaps it was because of the understudies...we had 3 in. Wow, that was painful. The show is just...so...young now. The cast, I mean. Ben wasn't THAT incredible. Everyone makes him out to be GOD--and that just wasn't the case...atleast at my show. Rue was pretty darn bad...I'm sorry, her voice....just talking was just annoying. She got very into the character, I'll give her that. If her voice wasn't so raspy, I think she'd make an incredible Madame Morrible.
Sweet Charity, on the other hand, was a last minute decision. The first 20 minutes or so dragged on...but after that, it was INCREDIBLE. Right now, I'd take the Charity revival over Wicked.
I'm siding with ljay on this one. I'd give just about anything to see Sweet Charity again. Christina was AMAZING, in my opinion.
Chicago was my favorite show though--the cast I saw was just...amazing. Not a single person I didn't like. Everyone was...wow. That was the most energy I've ever seen in a show. (I'm just like ljay

Well, if she dies in the next 6 minutes then sure, and Carol Channing is gonna show up, but only because she'll beconfused for someone dead and told she needs to start dancing.
Oh, yeah. Chicago beats both of them.
I want Debbie with Charlotte.
Parks, I love you!! We are def. alike!

TheNardier, did you see it with...*runs to get playbill*
-Charlotte
-Luba
-Mary
-Christopher?
The cast I saw was AMAZING. Mary Testa was amazing as Mama. I heard her voice and I was like..eeek...may not like her, but she was hilarious! (in When You're Good to Mama).
Again, not a SINGLE person in the cast I didn't LOVE.

I've only seen it once on Broadway, and it was like 3 years ago. The last week of March in 02, all i know is i loved it, but i don't remember who it was. I need to go back again.
Chicago has been my favorite show..
It's amazing. I can't wait to return for Brooke. and I'll finally see Luba!
Not Mary, Carole Woods.
The rest, yes.
Charlotte is the stronger dancer (which is odd, since Velma should be the stronger dancer, I think).
But Luba's acting and singing are so great that it doesn't matter, and you don't even notice.
Well usually the Velma is the stronger dancer. But this time the Weissler's changed things up a bit, and picked a performer more known for her voice. So they altered some of Velma's moves for Luba. I believe they took away the high kicks, and the cartwheel in HOT HONEY RAG, which is stupid that they still have Charlotte do the cartwheel - and Luba just stands there. Because it looks AWESOME when Roxie & Velma do it together.

I jsut went back to look (at the replacement lists on IBDB) and if the dates aren't all wrong and i didn't have any understudies i had Denise Van Outen as Roxie, Alix Korey as Mama, it says Ron Raines but my Billy was black and Ron Raines is very much not black and probably who ever was before Stephanie Pope as Velma.
I would kill to hear Alix sing "When You're Good to Mama"
<---Look! Alix!
