dang where the HELL is the Shukert recap this week?
The Pone takes her costumes home and no one fires her, (except ALW).
The show needs more sex: Ellis on his knees or all fours, Karen slowly undressing Ivy out of her sexy Angel costume, Tom exposing his bum to the "bear" as he leaves the party, more stuff like that.
Ivy riding a dwarf dressed as the Phantom down 8th Ave while two chorus boys lick chocolate sauce off her breasts.
Ivy and Karen walking in on Dev and Derek.

I don't think anybody thinks her addiction is funny. It's just her actions while high were funny. It was terrible when she fell. I want the best for Ivy more than anybody (lol) and I want her to get over this addiction/insecurity.
and i'd point out that i only want a Dev/Derek coupling because nothing is gayer than two straight men having sex together.

Wouldn't Ivy fall into a coma from taking pills and drinking alcohol?

As a fan of "Fame Becomes Me," I really enjoyed the way that "The Harder You Fall" was a clear homage to the second act of Shaiman's musical revue. The music combined nods to "Heaven, Heaven," "Up Here In Heaven" and especially "Big Black Lady," plus even Norbert's costume and wig looked uncannily like the St. Peter version of Irving Cohen from the show.
i saw that Short review, but was more taken with similarities to Texas Has A Whorehouse In It.
Just saw last night's episode. Lord I pray they don't do anything to undermine Ivy's problem (they tend to do that with serious storylines), because she was a MESS. Also, still growing bored of the random out-of-place cover songs
I'm glad that Julia's husband walked out on her, she doesn't deserve him. Brian D'Arcy James was impeccable. I can't believe I was actually moved by a scene from Smash for once. In no small part due to James's performance.
This was definitely better than last week, but it's still really confusing and almost unwatchable.
"And Butz always looks like he is trying WAY too hard and needs a shower."
LOL so true!
"Just a guy", I think you saw something different than I did with the performance where Ivy not only was bored, but telegraphed her boredom dramatically to the back of the balcony. Maybe she couldn't be fired on the spot for that, but while many chorus members may become bored in shows -- overacting the boredom in the manner that Ivey did, totally changing her performance -- could and would get a person fired.
Patash, I don't know about that. I saw Hairspray numerous times and there was one long-time ensemble member who always acted like they wanted to be anywhere else whenever he/she was on stage.
"I don't think anybody thinks her addiction is funny."
I do.
"It's just her actions while high were funny."
That, too.
"It was terrible when she fell."
No, it was hilarious. I just wish she would have fallen off the stage.
"I want the best for Ivy more than anybody (lol)"
I want her to end up a coke whore on 12th Ave having to sell her nasty, sorry self for a couple bucks and a diet coke.
"...and I want her to get over this addiction/insecurity."
I don't. I want her to spiral down Requiem-For-A-Dream-Style. "I'm gonna be on Television!!"
Maybe she couldn't be fired on the spot for that, but while many chorus members may become bored in shows -- overacting the boredom in the manner that Ivey did, totally changing her performance -- could and would get a person fired.
I didn't say she couldn't get fired for it. I said that she would be warned first, and if the behavior continued she could possibly be fired.
Equity says that you must show just cause. Everyone from the Production Supervisor, to the Dance Captain and Production Stage Manager are involved. Everything has to be documented. Equity will not let you fire someone on a chorus contract, simply because you say they are changing their performance. You have to show how that performance has changed, and what the changes are, you have to show that the person has been warned about the changes to their performance, you have to show that the person has been rehearsed to try to get the performance back on track. It's a process that takes a while, and sometimes does not end up with the person being fired, if Equity finds there is not just cause. I've been involved with trying to prove just cause on more than one occasion, and it can be an ugly process for everyone involved.
And of course, Ivy has a best friend in the composer who already feels bad for "firing" her from MARILYN, sorry, I mean BOMBSHELL!
Tommy would go to "bat" for her and she would prob'ly get a warning.
I'm assuming there's an exclimation point.

I have a friend who attends community college and he says that show Community is entirely unrealistic. Just so you know.
Like my friend who's twin set her up for murder but lived and took over the others identity, who says RINGER is unrealistic. Just a bunch of haters.
"And by the way, what's wrong with calling the show Marilyn?"
Because it's boring and unimaginative, and it sounds like the title of a biography.
And there already was a flop called MARILYN, that would be like another, KELLY! or LEGS DIAMOND1
'Marilyn and Joe.' The names in different fonts.
How about "OVERRATED!". Now THAT would be a really apt title.
'Marilyn and Joe.' The names in different fonts.
That would work if they were just focusing on them but they are casting Arthur Miller (allegedly).
