Actually, I never thought about that, but I really enjoy it being on Monday too--partly as for years it seemed like I didn't like anything on Monday, and that's probably the one night I most feel like vegging out in front of the TV. I nitpick as much as anyone, but I admit I always have a fun time watching the show (and I think many of the people who post each week "why am I still watching this" clearly do as well).
And Betty is depressed. You guys, it is a disease, sheesh! In season one it caused her to have the shakes (or was it she would black out? I can't remember--that seems like ten years ago), and now it's making her eat all her daughter's food. I look forward to what it brings about for the final two years.

I am hoping that the show will improve in the second season. Just in case if I didn't say this earlier, one of my favorite TV shows 'Parks & Recreation' got mixed reviews in its first season and Amy Poehler said that the reason why most critics were not crazy about it was because they compared it to 'The Office'. However, from season 2 onwards, the show has gotten MUCH BETTER. Most critics now find it to be one of the funniest shows on TV. So, hopefully, 'Smash' will get better in season 2.

At least the Grey's doctors showed up in the OR every once in a while!
Yes, they do, where they continue to act like high schoolers. I think I have relatively low expectations for verisimilitude from TV series, but I can't get past the idea that anyone on GREY'S is allowed to hold a scalpel.
I actually like PRIVATE PRACTICE better. The characters are just as silly, but most of them keep away from sharp objects.
Since the writers used the term 'old fashioned' on two different occasions this last week, they aren't allowed to use it again for at least a month...

Ha. We can add that to list of verboten terms for this show, like "Amazing!"
Exactly, this is a TV show and not going to be a 100% accurate account of trying to get a musical on Broadway. My wife has been in nursing for 30 yrs and I can't tell you how many times I have watched something medical on a show with her and she just shakes her head in disbelief.

I just watched the clip of the Bollywood. It needs more shots of the couple holding each other wistfully set to scenic imagery if it wants authenticity!
Also, "White Baby Grand Piano" is gorgeous.

Laura Osnes was one of the final three women who was considered for the role of Karen. But of course it went to McPhee.

Nooo! Laura would have been SO GOOD in that role. At least better than McPhee, not that it's difficult though. D:
Was that Tony Yazbeck as Ted, the new guy who replaced Will Chase's character?
Yes it was. This is an odd episode so far, but I am enjoying it.

I really like Laura a lot, but I really wanted Katherine to finally have a big break and it has finally happened. She was Idol's most underrated contestant. The title used to belong to Jennifer Hudson until 'Dreamgirls' changed life. Besides, I can't wait to see Laura play Cinderella.

Does anyone else think the Bollywood number was just ridiculous?
I thought it was fun, but completely out of context. I liked the song itself, though.
Really? Karen didn't have anything in the rehearsal room? shoes? a bag?
Argh. One step forward, two steps back. (Did like that last song, though.)
SECOND HAND BABY GRAND is sooo Bucchino...
I love Bollywood.

I loved almost every second of this episode, from Angelica's curly do to that glorious Bollywood number. Loved it all.

I really am enjoying the show. Karen is stupid just plain stupid, she deserves to lose that song. Why on earth would you listen to anyone about scheduling except the production SM.

I couldn't figure out why there were people she didn't know in her fantasy. She doesn't know Frank, Leo, and Nick at all. Maybe she briefly met them at the workshop but not enough to be featured in her little fantasy.
I wonder if I would dislike Karen less if Laura had planned the role.
I love Christian Borle more and more. I especially loved his scenes in reference to Leo being missing. I just kinda wished Leo stayed missing.
Ellis DID borrow a cell phone -- wasn't it the stage managers? (I couldn't see from whom he borrowed it.)
But yes, Leo staying missing would have been ideal. He's awful.

I wish Leo and Brian D! James would both go missing, actually.

I loved the Bollywood number, too.
Yes he did, it was the girl Rebecca Asst.
