Saw it in London and it is a very slick fast moving show. A definate winner for the Belasco.

I know Bryan Cranston is pretty relevant and famous, but never thought this (or Mockingbird, but that has LCT) would sell out like it is. Most performances in the first few weeks I'm looking at are totally sold out. For new plays, that's incredible. I'll most likely wait for standing room as the view is fab. Can't wait to hear first reports!

Well, assuming theatergoers bought up the inventory and not scalpers. Of course, when they overbuy, we all win...

Bryan Cranston = Money

If Cranston sell out All The Away, He would never had a problem selling of hell of a movie classic like this.

It just bores me how much hammy all his performances are, I know it’s his thing, but I can’t get excited lol

Will hope for the best and expect great notes from Maslany tho

Ah, really wanna know how the Beatrice Straight is handled and how the actress plays it

Seeing it on the 17th. Not excited to watch people eat on stage (I just don't get this part), but very excited for everything else.

Cranston is not boring at all in my opinion. Even in the stupid commercial he is currently in, he commands attention. As for the Beatrice Straight glorified cameo which won an Oscar, I could do completely without that character and storyline.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Beatrice Straight stuff was removed entirely. There have even been television broadcasts in the past that cut her big money scene for time. I once read a few stories on IMDB years ago where people talked about watching the movie on TV and were curious about her performance only for her big monologue to be cut making her Oscar win seem even more bizarre in that context.

Ugh. Louise and her scene are absolutely essential to dramatizing Max's central conflict and his humanity. Any outlet that cut it "for time" should be burned to the ground. An actress has been cast as Louise in this production, so I assume the scene remains.

I'm glad to hear that. Personally, I've always loved that scene because it is such a raw, emotional moment that Beatrice Straight delivers in spades. In such a dark satire of a piece, that scene stands out in such a strong way...which may be part of what led her to winning.

Louise/Straight is completely essencial to this story.

It’s almost a metaphor for the whole tv/industry thing and summarizes Max’s life/choices perfectly.

I wouldn’t have give that award for straight because I love me some Laurie and Foster, but that is the definition of scene stealer. Talk about emotions in your face.

Dont u understand that? I hurt badly!

"So that's it? She gets the winter passion and I get the dotage?"

Genius writing and masterful acting.

I’m not surprised at all. Cranston had no trouble selling out All The Way, which played in a larger theater.

My friend who was at invited dress last night has not stopped raving about the show for the last 24 hours. She was beyond blown away. I can't wait to see it next week and can't wait to hear more reports tonight!

Edit: Looks like Megyn Kelly was at first preview tonight.

Would it be correct to assume that Mr. Cranston is expected to be on for all performances? Looking to book for sometime in March.

Wondering how likely this is to extend... it’s currently on sale through 3/17, on the phone the lady working for Telecharge said that was not a closing date... just the on sale date... is this likely to extend through the Tonys...? 7-8 months is a long time for someone as big as Cranston to commit to 8 performances/week Broadway schedule...???
