NYC Trip: Show Suggestions?

I know you guys probably hate these kinds of posts, but I just need a little bit of help from people who might know more about the shows that have recently opened than I do. A friend and I are planning on heading into the city for a few days in mid-June. We'll have time for five shows (six if there are any shows with a Sunday matinee/evening combo). So far, the shows we agree on seeing for sure are Book of Mormon, Catch Me If You Can, and Priscilla Queen of the Desert (and if anyone knows any codes for these shows for that time period, that would be great too!).
We also discussed maybe seeing Baby, It's You, Jersey Boys (she finds it horrible that I've never seen it live) and Wonderland. So my question is: has anyone had any experience with these shows lately to be able to recommend/warn against for people with limited time to fit shows in? Or any shows we might have overlooked so far? Thanks!

Avoid Baby, It's You and Wonderland like the plague!! These shows sucked out loud and aren't worth your limited time or money.
Closer to your travel date, find discount codes on www.broadwaybox.com.
Are you interested in only musicals, or plays as well? War Horse is supposed to be stunning!

I would suggest getting your tickets for "Book of Mormon" now. I don't know how far in advance it is sold out but it seems to be a hard ticket to get. I saw Priscilla. Iit was fun but I wouldn't go back to see it again. if you can't get "...Mormon", go for "How to Succeed", Anything Goes" or "Sister Act". I have seen "How to Succeed..." and it is a fun show. Seeing Sister Act on Monday and I hear Anything Goes is good. I always say, see what you want to see no matter what others say about it.

From what I've read on the threads on this board:
a) "Baby, It's You" would be a big mistake and "Wonderland" could disappoint you.
b) Daniel Radcliffe does a great job on "How to Succeed...".
c) "Anything Goes" got great reviews yesterday.
I love the cast recording of "Jersey Boys" (I hadn't heard of The Four Seasons before I saw it on Las Vegas), but that show should still be there on your next trip.

PRISCILLA is wonderful and has a still-amazing view from the balcony.
They just released a promotion for Sunday evenings where balcony seats are $45 at the box office the day of the show, first-come/serve.
Go for it.

I recommend seeing shows like Wonderland and Baby, it's you(althought I haven't seen them) because these shows might close earlier and they are not likely to tour around the US, so it might be your only chance to ever see them.
With that said I'd recommend Anything Goes, and I'd skip Book of Mormon(too expensive and a bit overrated), Priscilla(just "cute" overrated fluff) and I didn't love Catch Me If You Can either.

Posted: 4/8/11 at 4:11pmAnything Goes is a lot of fun, as is Catch Me, Mormon, Priscilla and (I am assuming) Sister Act. Good People is also a great show.

Posted: 4/8/11 at 5:26pmI would also recommend getting your tickets for Book of Mormon in advance...I went to the box office about a week ago and the first time they had the $69 seats for a weekend matinee was July 30th, and for a Wednesday matinee it was June 1st, so that's when I'm going. Full price tickets would be easier to get I would imagine but the cheaper seats for that seem to be going really quickly.

Posted: 4/8/11 at 6:00pmI would suggest you also check a place like Off-Off-online since you are too early for fringe and go see some small musical in a tiny NY theater. It can wind up being horrible, but it can also be a chance to see something amazing with talented new performers that are literally 6 inches away from you.

Posted: 4/8/11 at 6:31pmWe're probably going to get our 'Mormon' tickets in the next couple of days. We knew that one was going to be the tough one to get, since the show is doing so well. I had been hoping to see La Cage with Sieber when we were there, but it closes well before we get there.
