Broadway is almost back, and pop music tours and sports events are booming. But Hollywood, museums and other cultural sectors have yet to bounce back.
(But no mention of the effect on advance sales)

Curious to see what impact the current (and safe to say, ongoing) economic chaos has on Broadway, concerts, etc. I’ve already curtailed my entertainment spending. Assume I’m not alone.
Foreign tourists are cancelling their summer vacations to the US because of what's going on. I don't think Broadway will get it's summer sales boom like it has in the past.

If we don't head into a recession by then, I still think there will be an uptick in sales, just not as big as we're used to. We'll see.

Currently, financial experts are predicting a recession anywhere from 6 months from now until the possibility as late as January 2026.

Well, many of these “experts” have been predicting a recession for the past few years. It’s like they’ve been trying to will it to happen. So far, we’ve dodged the bullet, but certainly this feels different. It’s obvious why. Anyway, no idea why foreign tourists would visit the U.S. It would be last on my list. In fact, it wouldn’t be on my list at all.
I agree that Broadway specifically, and entertainment in general, will need to scale back expectations. Disposable income is drying up.

Stock market is tanking, inflation is rising, unemployment is rising, housing is limited, he's pissed off our greatest ally in Canada, tariffs are in effect. All signs of an impending recession

yes, it's down from it's record highs, but really its gyrating -- spasming -- more than it's tanking. capital dislikes uncertainty. which leaves me wondering why it supported this Chaos Agent in the first place.

I'm curious too. However, the shows with A-list celebrities will do just fine as their fans are ok with charging their credit card $$$ to see them live once in their lives.

Australia has placed a travel warning on the US as well. Forward bookings into the states are an all time low, Fiji airlines just offered a 380 USD return fare to the states to drum up business. He will send the states into a recession.
Wow some good deals on Fiji Airways from Vancouver to Fiji, and Vancouver to Australia. Cheaper than flights to the UK I looked at for same time this year, and actually equsl to flights to Mexico. There's big demand fir Mexico as people are choosing that over Hawaii. Flights to the US still significantly cheaper. Where You get hit us the exchange rate so hotels, food, entertainment become pricey. A month ago I booked 5 nights in Las Vegas for October & got a cheap room rate because the gambling subsidies the resorts. If travel drops significantly due to a recession deals in LV might dry up though. Staying at the same hotel in NYC I did last November will cost me double this year. I made a booking elsewhere, but haven't booked airfare yet, so not 100% committed to the trip. Like everyone else have been pricing out Mexico for late November instead. It is a 5-6 hour flight to either Mexico, Hawaii, or NYC. I really hate anything longer.
Canadians are cancelling their summer US vacations and booking trips to the UK, Europe or the Caribbean. Australians aren't coming over this summer, either. The cruise industry is reporting low bookings for US cruises to the Caribbean. New Yorkers don't really see shows during the summer and head to the beaches/Jersey shore. Curious to see how badly shows are effected this summer.
