NYU Grad Master Thesis Survey on Broadway Audience Engagement

I'm finishing up my master's degree and for my thesis, I have a survey on Broadway audience engagement. If you could take a few minutes out of your day and take my survey it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Survey Link: https://nyu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6mOs4Uv165ZMtKZ

Thank you everyone, for filling out my survey, your participation has helped immensely. Also, to clarify, this survey is a component of my thesis to add data to my thesis, not my hypothesis. If you would like more information on my hypothesis please email or message me.

Done.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Happy to complete it for you, but I'm going to agree with And Peggy. I've seen ALL the shows you used in your examples (and not too many) so it's hard to be able to imagine their influence as if I had not.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I completed it as well, but the choices were odd, especially for people on a Broadway theater chatboard.

Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

Also completed! Good luck.

In response to everyone else, I think I caught the drift of the survey. I would not like to color in any way the OP's survey with my opinion, however so I'm not gonna say anything here. But PM me if you wanna chat about it for whatever reason, because I believe she has a very specific goal here.

Done as well. Your sample is likely to be very biased if you're getting most of your respondents from this board. I do hope you're looking to recruit folks who aren't "theater people." Not to mention, even message board "theater people" differ from other "theater people" so that itself is another bias. It will strongly limit to what extent you can generalize your findings, if any.

Also, several questions should have explanations. I imagine some folks who answer that they attend a show once every two years will not know what a "lottery or rush option" is. A lot of these caveats can be explained in your limitations section!

Good luck! I'm interested to see what you find and how you present the data. I'd love to read your thesis when you're done. What's your Master's in?

I'm a bit confused as to how some of these questions relate to the topic of "audience engagement" (specifically ones about the song lyrics).

I do agree with the others that it is quite narrow for a master's thesis and the survey comes off a bit like a Buzzfeed quiz, but I do wish you the best of luck.

I don't think that's possible. :) When it comes to picking a topic for a thesis or dissertation, it's always better to think small and let things grow from there. A lot of graduate students choose topics that are too broad, leading to an unfocused final product. If the survey (which I just took) seems limited in scope, that's a good sign that the OP has chosen a very focused research question.
