My partner and I are coming up to NYC for our first of two trips this year. This will be my birthday trip March 21-23. We are coming back for The Music Man in the fall and will see at least 3-4 others.
We definitely want to see The Inheritance this trip. So that is just about a lock.
We have room to see two other shows (Friday night and Sunday matinee) and are open to plays and musicals.
We are considering Tina, The Minutes, Moulin Rouge, Company and Mrs. Doubtfire (in no particular order).
We have seen HadesTown, To Kill a Mockingbird, Mean Girls, Frozen, Wicked, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, The Lion King, The Book of Mormon, Hamilton, and Aladdin.
Should we be considering others or not considering one of these?

I definitely recommend seeing Jagged Little Pill. Tina - not so much.

We would mainly be going to see Tina for Adrienne.

My husband and I will be there mid-March and our lineup includes Virginia Woolf, Company (which we also saw in London), Flying Over Sunset, Caroline, or Change and Love Life
I enjoyed Tina more than JLP and Moulin Rouge, especially if you can see Adrienne.

What shows have you liked in the past? This will help us be able to give better recommendations. Don't see Tina only for Adrienne. Adrienne is unreliable.

I would definitely recommend JLP, Company, or Moulin Rouge before Tina.
JLP and Moulin Rouge are absolutely fantastic! Saw MR twice and JLP once last month. Both are very high contenders to be nominated for Best Musical at the Tony's this year.
Adrienne has been very flakey in her performance schedule (despite the show only being open for 3 months), and it is not worth the high price point without her. In my opinion, I think the book is not good, and all of the hype is for Adrienne. Bought tickets in December to see her in January, then she ended up "falling off the stage 3 times" (according to the box office) and was unable to perform for 4 days when I was supposed to see her. The box office is extremely unaccommodating if she is out and will not offer refunds. Overall not a good experience seeing Tina and thought it was a mediocre jukebox.
Tina is skippable in my opinion. Granted, I didn’t see Adrienne, but I can’t believe her reportedly great performance could compensate for such a bad book,
I loved Moulin Rouge! If you see it in March you might have a chance of seeing the OBC. Just check to see if there’s any cast absences scheduled for that weekend.
I have tickets to see Company in June and I definitely think that’s worth taking up your last slot.
The Minutes seems promising, but I’d rather wait until reviews are out to decide. It starts previews February 25th so maybe wait until you read early reports on here?

For my spring trips shows that'll be open by your dates I am seeing/trying to seeFlying Over Sunset, WSS, Company, Lehman Trilogy, and Girl From the North Country.
I'm am most excited for WSS and Flying Over Sunset. I'll prob try and fit rushing Six since I read performances alone are worth it and it makes up for not really having a plot, being more concert-y, and only 80 minutes long.

Of the ones discussed. I’d say too see Tina over JLP I enjoyed it much more. Then I would also add moulin rouge. Which I loved. I asked when he’s contracted til and he said that he would be with the show until two weeks after the Tonys.
I saw company in London. Thought it was alright. Though I would also give it some interest with the new cast.
One not mentioned and one I would throw into the mix is definitely SIX

She isn't flakey, she is recovering from the injury. But I still think Tina isn't worth it, especially if you have only few days in NYC. Jagged Little Pill is definitely a must see.

That's one way to look at it.. the reality is she's never there! Save your money... Again the horrible book doesn't make up for the amazing performance she supposedly has anyways. If you really want a show see Moulin Rouge. Trying to get back for my third time saturday.

I would also recommend seeing Jagged Little Pill. Such a cool show, stunning acting, great set and lighting. Liked it far more than Tina on my trip last month. Moulin Rouge was also pretty good, and I saw SIX in Chicago and it was fabulous.
I honestly wouldn’t recommend Jagged Little Pill to my worst enemy. I’m a huge Alanis fan but the plot was manipulative, contrived and just ridiculous. It took every social issue there ever was or will be and just crammed it into two and a half hours. It was a bad Lifetime movie of the week and I don’t think I have ever been more disappointed.
Moulin Rouge! was fine and I would recommend it if you can get an affordable ticket. Thankfully they lower prices A LOT a few days in advance (at least currently) and you can find orchestra tickets on StubHub for around $30 about an hour before the performance. The show itself is just OK. It would have been better with different leads that actually had any kind of chemistry. It was however impressive visually and was fun most of the time.
I just saw Tina yesterday and I also just found it... fine. It started incredible slow, but did pick up near the end of act one. Act two was significantly better. The things Warren does and sings is incredible and is worth seeing for her (but not paying a ton, I won the lottery and wouldn’t pay more than that). She was in an ankle brace and I couldn’t believe the dancing she was doing. I’m currently in a brace and I can’t even walk down the stairs normally! LOL
I am very interested in The Minutes and would choose that if it were me personally. Also would throw in Six and The Girl From the North Country.
Also! I am usually not a hard person to please as far as theatre goes but the past year or so has been just been mediocre. There has been things I’ve loved (Slave Play, The Sound Inside, Hadestown, Oklahoma, The Prom) but I’m finding more and more I’m not enjoying.
