i watched the video of her recording it.
i found it SO annoying. she still has that really annoying voice.
i couldn't even finish the video cuz i couldn't stand it.
i'm done with the show on broadway after LBB's last show unless autumn's playing elle.
autumn's voice is AMAZINGGGGGGGG.

I don't think her voice is completely terrtible either. However, on the recording- that can be engineered to sound better. The test will be how she can handle it a few times in one week. I personally don't like her fakey personality.

You can hear her singing though in the video of her recording, unless they could have engineered that as well.

Spork you really don't think the whole song is just one take, do you? All they did is sew together parts of them recording and layed the actual recording on top.

Oh- one more thing- her grammar. She said " I have never rode in a limousine before" and "my dreams have came true" jeez! just sayin' She's being interviewed on Inside Edition.

Just watched the full performances from last night on the MTV site....I must say, Bailey's acting (which they cut on the tv show) is very over the top...could definitely see what Jerry meant about schmacting. When she is not saying something or singing, her facial expressions make me feel like I am watching a high school musical. And her belted notes are definitely off pitch.

People aren't realizing that Bailey is only 20 years old. Jeez give her a chance onstage before everyone bashes her. Oh wait it's too late since everyone is bashing her already. I for one can't wait to see her next week.

And I still didn't hear Bailey being off-pitch. Of course, I only watched the full auditions once.

I think Bailey has a really nasal quality to her voice, which is definitely a style I dislike. And the video is definitely just the synthesized song over the video playing.

Supportivemom, I couldn't agree more w/your comments. While there may have been errors here and there w/some of the other contestants, Bailey's errors were frequent and glaring. And did you read any of the posts on her blog? Don't know if there is a line that doesn't include a run-on, fragment, error in conjugation, etc. I'm not being picky here. Many of these are serious errors that should have been weeded out in elementary school––not simple casual blog slips/shortcuts. (Actually commented on this in another thread. Her "had rode" was as wrenching as her "had came.") For a role in which the lines are supposed to come from a Harvard student, these are particularly big probs. Let's hope, for her sake, she never has to ad-lib.

That's not a good argument. There are plenty of 20 year olds who have been on Broadway and were ready from the day they auditioned. Furthermore, her age (if anything) is another argument against why she shouldn't have been cast. At the start of the show, Elle is graduating from college (22/23 years old) and at the end from Harvard (25/26?). She looks way younger than the rest of the cast (leads and ensemble).

Who's arguing? Annaleigh looked way younger than the rest of the cast also and I think she did fine but she wasn't Elle. Anyway I think that people should wait until she has her first performance(or even see her for themselves) tomorrow before they start bashing her from what they saw on a reality show.

I have a boss that says "Let's get this done right quick" all the time and it bugs the crap outta me...LOL.

I love how the defence is she is only 20. BIG DEAL she is gonna be starring on BROADWAY. It doesn't matter how old you are you have to have some talent.

The only reason people buy into her is because of the big "I'm the dumb preacher's daughter". I mean come on...when they showed how upset her dad was during So Much Better when she was moaning. She's like the Jessica Simpson of Broadway...can't act, doesn't sing well, and as dumb as a brick.

is it true bailey is only playing this role for two weeks so they don't have to give her an equity card?
