New HAIR Broadway Cast to Be Announced on Tuesday

Am I the only one who thinks it's odd that Jay is still a swing even though he's been with the show for a while? I mean, I know it's not about timing but...am I making any sense?

Also, is it true Ace Young doesn't want to go nude? I couldn't care less about seeing him in the flesh, but if Berger doesn't get naked it would just seem off.

I googled some of these people to see who might've been cast from the open call. Cailan Rose was apparently Tam in Miss Saigon and her resume says she's a member of Equity.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

No clue if it's true but it would seem off. Same thing if Diana/Sheila wouldn't go nude.

The article here on BWW also has the cast bios.

I've heard that Ace Young is a really nice guy but his bio is embarrassing. He made love to the entire world? Gag me.

Ace Young (Berger) has made love to the entire world and is bringing free love, drugs, and rock n' roll back. This Scorpio male has piercing green eyes and wavy locks and knows how to use them. The youngest of 5 boys this Grammy-nominated groovy cat loves to fight the system and take a stand for what is right. As one of the most recognizable males in American Idol history this entertainer has truly done everything from his guest starring role on FOX's BONES, Co-Hosting American Idol Extra alongside Jillian Barbarie-Reynolds, Co-Producing his self titled album, "Ace Young", and Executive Producing his and other artists upcoming records. Working with Hollywood, New York, and the world's best, ACE is riding high on his crazy crazy trip.

New HAIR Broadway Cast to Be Announced on Tuesday

If shows actually gave two twigs about their replacement casts (the way this production of HAIR does), then shows would continue to have an interest from the community. I think it is rather important for productions to continue announcing and causing hype about the new interpretations in the wings. I think it's rather sad people write off replacements as not needing a press conference...particularly in this case when a new company is coming in.

Well given that I have a bit of a crush on Annaleigh Ashford, I will definately be seeing the new cast

I'm content with the casting, since all of them actually are young. Especially Kyle as Claude! I have never met an actor so gracious, and he actually is pretty great with his fans.
The most humble actor I've met hands down. Very down to earth.

Yes a Few Non Equity perfomers did make it into the New Cast of HAIR. One of the performers is Mykal Kilgore. Look out he Awesome. Billy Porter crowned him Broadways New Belter.. The Guy has definatly got the chops. I saw him perform with The Broadway Boys just a few nights ago.
There is nothing in the world better than Live Theater.

Excuse my naiveté, but the last time I saw “Hair” the stage was so dimly lit that you could not tell who was naked and who was not. What has changed?

New HAIR Broadway Cast to Be Announced on Tuesday

I think it's pretty clear.

And this cast does seem a bit more scrubbed and perky than the original. The performance they gave at the announcement only made them seem more so, peace signs and all.

That said, they have stepped inside the rehearsal studio yet, and Ms Paulus hasn't worked with them. I have faith in her, so I'll venture to say the cast will be pretty wonderful in performance.

And I bet Ace doesn't go nude, but I don't really care...
