I just got an email with the season listings for New York Stage & Film's summer season at Vassar College. Among new works by Eve Ensler, Eric Bogosian, and John Patrick Shanley, there will also be a new musical by Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater.

I'm extremely interested to see how this show works out.
Meh
The cast is AMAZING!
But I am sworn to secrecy, dang it.
Wait till you hear....
Should be announced soon.
I like the historical part to it- it has the potential to be pretty funny.
just read an article about how they basically "completed" the entire work (NERO) and then went back, a month later, and completely changed everything.
it's all new material with a fresh concept. should be interesting...

What's the show about?
When Can I get tickets? Will it be in NYC?
I'm happy to see something else by Duncan Shiek & Steven Satar
It's basically being treated as an out of town try-out workshop.
No furhter plans exist as of this moment.

Cast has been announced.
Carlson, Menzel, Michele and Arden Sing Sheik & Sater's Nero July 11-13
Sounds like it could be interesting.
I love Sheik's music but not crazy about Spring Awakening.
Um, Nero has a type.
Idina AND Lea Michele? Oy. The fangirls will LURRVE this one.

i can't wait. i heard a song from this and it was amazing. duncan shiek kept saying that "nero" would make "spring awakening" look like "the wedding singer."

Interesting. The song that I found sounds nice.
Seeing as I did not see "The Wedding Singer", what does Shiek mean?
Sounds interesting, but I was sorely disappointed by Spring Awakening. I'll keep an open mind and hope for the best, though.
and just so you know, this is also starring Paolo Montalban (best known perhaps, as the prince in the Whitney Houston headed Cinderella) aka the worst screen actor of... all time. next to brandy.
idina = overrated
idina = her voice will commit suicide week 4
idina = makes teri hatcher's acting look truthful
o well... people want a name.
Can't wait for more details!
I love that Lea Michele is doing something new, but oh god. I can't stand EYEEEDEEENAHHH. OR HER FANS.
This will be debateable for me, keep us posted
Saw the workshop of this at The Public last year and it, like Spring Awakening had nice-sounding but heartless songs which added nothing to plot, character, or drama, a book that had zero character development, and horribly written scenes. Yet, unlike Spring Awakening, the songs had zero punch. Menzel is the only reason I'm interested, and for that sake, I hope, if she sticks with it, the show's worthwhile.
Also, the idea of having to sit in a theater of Lea Michele, Spring Awakening, and Idina Menzel fangirls is giving me a migraine as I type.

I'm disappointed Steggert didn't continue on with this
Is this the same one that Jan Maxwell was involved in at one point? If so, it makes me quite unhappy to read that she is no longer involved with the project
Looks interesting though.
