New Musical by the Creators of Spring Awakening

I just got an email with the season listings for New York Stage & Film's summer season at Vassar College. Among new works by Eve Ensler, Eric Bogosian, and John Patrick Shanley, there will also be a new musical by Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater.

just read an article about how they basically "completed" the entire work (NERO) and then went back, a month later, and completely changed everything.

it's all new material with a fresh concept. should be interesting...

Ooh, sounds interesting!
I'm curious also about what Eve Ensler is doing.

I am so excited.

Sounds like it could be interesting.

I love Sheik's music but not crazy about Spring Awakening.

Sounds interesting, but I was sorely disappointed by Spring Awakening. I'll keep an open mind and hope for the best, though.

and just so you know, this is also starring Paolo Montalban (best known perhaps, as the prince in the Whitney Houston headed Cinderella) aka the worst screen actor of... all time. next to brandy.
It's the music and I'm its hapless victim

Can't wait for more details!
I love that Lea Michele is doing something new, but oh god. I can't stand EYEEEDEEENAHHH. OR HER FANS.
This will be debateable for me, keep us posted

re: New Musical by the Creators of Spring Awakening

Saw the workshop of this at The Public last year and it, like Spring Awakening had nice-sounding but heartless songs which added nothing to plot, character, or drama, a book that had zero character development, and horribly written scenes. Yet, unlike Spring Awakening, the songs had zero punch. Menzel is the only reason I'm interested, and for that sake, I hope, if she sticks with it, the show's worthwhile.

Also, the idea of having to sit in a theater of Lea Michele, Spring Awakening, and Idina Menzel fangirls is giving me a migraine as I type.

Is this the same one that Jan Maxwell was involved in at one point? If so, it makes me quite unhappy to read that she is no longer involved with the project re: New Musical by the Creators of Spring Awakening
Looks interesting though.
