the big ad in times sq of Cary was replaced by an ugly Avenue Q one. There is a DIFFERENT new rent poster way way up where the lennon one was. (above 49th?)
Its black and pinkish stripes with "RENT" in the middle, and a small "now" below it on the right.
does anyone know if it's a spotco design or if it's a different company now? it's so bizare looking. and I don't understand the RENT NOW thing. yes spotco changed CHICAGO to CHICAGO LIVE after the film, but you don't see PHANTOM pimping it up with PHANTOM LIVE or PHANTOM NOW. I don't get it...
I do not like this new poster... it's just awkward looking.

It looks like it was designed by someone's dad trying to be "cool."

*ponders (rehtorically) to self: Why is Roger so big and Mark so small? Why remove the pretty Cary billboard?! Why do it? End ponder.*

over debate critique, over debate critique, over analyze. SNAP. ENJOY>
ewww.
looks like an ad for a 70's after school special.
I think we should observe a moment of silence and remember the Cary and Antoinique posters.
"dearly beloved, we gather here to say our goodbyes..."
at least I no longer have to stick my finger down my throat to induce vomiting... one look at that baby and there goes ten pounds...

I think I'm one of the only ones.....but I like it. Buttt...I think I like it because A) it is kinda cute, the colors are nice and B) it's different....I'm so used to the other one for years and years now, it's nice to see a change. I saw it last week when I was walking through the subway and it immediately caught my eye. It might not be the greatest thing in the world, but I want it. Great to know I can't find it anywhere, not even on Ebay. ::shrug::
That's terrible
we need to like petition to get this taken off.
Don't like it, it reminds me of a Cingular ad I saw at a BART station.
No, just no...

It looks... old fashoned almost. Like something they would make for a revival of South Pacific or something. I love the old musicals, but Rent has always had such an appeal to the younger generations who aren't into musicals because they think it's all twirling hoop skirts and 50 year old leading men. The simplistcity of the other Rent posters and the strange coloring has given them the feel of "new" or different than your average 'the hills are alive with the sound of music' production.
I love the new posters.
