Are they ever going to release a ST trailer with some actual singing in it?
- Did you miss the first trailer?

yes, but it will only be seen on LOGO.
I'm sorry. I totally forgot about that one line from Epiphany. Oops.

God, I wish it would play right!
Wow, this look amazing. I got so excited when I heard the orchestrations for the Ballad of Sweeney Todd. I can't wait.
"yes, but it will only be seen on LOGO."
LOL! Ain't it the truth.
There was singing in the first trailer and that wasn't good enough, so I can't say I'm shocked at the reaction.
I thought it was interesting (and relieving) that the dialogue was taken word-for-word from the show. But silly me for thinking that the actual movie was more important than the trailer.
It's not playing right for me. Does anyone know of anyplace else where the new trailer can be viewed?
I adored this trailer, especially the blood.
As everyone has said, I wish they had included some singing, more so I could indulge myself than for the sake of the movie musical genre.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but because you see sweeney making they chair, but you thing there is a chance that "God, Thats Good" it cut because of the lyrics alluding to it coming up the stairs. Just a thought albeit it could just be that they changed that line, but I was wondering what others thought.
H
Not necessarily. They didn't cut those lyrics from the revival when there was no chair delivery. When I saw the show, I thought it was referring to fresh meat coming up the stairs.
"God That's Good" is in, although the chair section of the song is not.

^ I figured that. Is POOR THING still in it? And there are rumors that WAIT actually is not cut, like we expected. Do you know, Smaxie?
"Poor Thing" and "Wait" are both in.

Wow! It looks like most of Lovett's music is staying. I know you probably can't say too much. But will there be any shocking cuts? And did they butcher PRIEST?
It seems odd that they would keep WAIT in, considering how happy Sondheim was that it would be cut.
But them's the brakes in the movie business, I guess. I mean, I'm not mad or anything.
No, most of "A Little Priest" is in, even ending with the rolling pin and knife flourish.
I cannot wait, it looked perfect.

20 solid seconds in a 2 minute trailer is kind of a lot of a musical number in a trailer. More than many others...
Is this posted somewhere else? It's not working for me.
same here
This trailer did very little for me. The first one got me excited though.
The orchestrations are WONDERFUL though

thanks dear :)
What are we even TALKING about here? I've already heard that the FILM is 90 minutes or so (CLEARLY cut WAY back from the original 2 3/4 hour of the play). I hope I'm WRONG - but this MAY be the case in which we have to REJECT what the "studio" is willing to GIVE us! Let's not just give them the "okay" to take a great musical and turn into something "amazingly visual", while they CUT OUT a LOT of the music! Please JOIN ME in REFUSING that film musicals (based on Broadway versions) need to be cut-down and mainstreamed for some kind of IDIOT audience that the studios apparantly feel is TOO musical (Sweeney Todd is almost ALL music). OMG - I SWEAR to God - if they start making musical plays into films that (regardless of how elaboratly filmed) are cutting out the MUSIC part of it - I'm so TOTALLY out of here! They ALREADY cut out songs, no doubt - just look at some of the past ones. Are you guys seriously going to sit here and let this happen? I don't even know where to start voicing my complaints! Sweeny Todd is pretty much finished - so I guess there's nothing we can do about it! I'll ask those who have SEEN the show on STAGE... HOW, exactly do you feel about a MOVIE version that is CLAIMING to be BASED on the MUSICAL.... yet, reduces the screen time by about an hour (maybe more), and turns a LOT of the originally SUNG dialogue into SPOKEN dialogue? DAMNIT!
