Last I checked (Playbill.com's job postings) they were having a call for Roger on Tuesday afternoon...I guess they found someone!
I'm very excited for this cast! I have a friend in the show and he's tremendous.

Define "unknown". ALL never cast before kids? No. Big well known names? No.

Well I didn't know who the hell Corbin was if that helps you feel better thisismyshow. It's not like Beyonce is stepping into the role. Hell, Tracy Thoms is even an unknown-no one outside of RENT heads knows who the hell she is.
Most working theatre actors are unknowns, I hate to break it to you.

Yeah, unknown doesn't mean "never had an acting job." It means unknown to most of the general population.
I think the point of this production is to make money.

Well, she had a regular role on Cold Case for 5 seasons, so she's not quite as unknown to the general population as, say, Merle Dandridge (another old Joanne) would be.

Don't be hating on Corbin. She's a great young performer and having two Broadway credits understudying the lead in both is pretty respectable. Especially for being fresh out of college.
This version of Rent, I'm pretty sure, is supposed to be more "fun", because everyone playing the parts was growing up having the show on broadway. It doesn't matter if a Broadway swing is playing a lead in an off-broadway show anyway. An open call is an open call.
