They're not sure yet about the next Jenna - Nicolette might be extending and then someone else (it's a good choice) will be being ushered in after her. Dates are still being worked out, I have friends in the cast.

I don't know. But Lindsay Mendez would be fantastic in this role and i would absolutely go back to see that.

Yeah she does: October 28th! She is in negotiations to extend.

I've heard that Nicolette is extending through the end of the year.

yes! I'm also all for giving Stephanie Torns an extended run as Jenna. Like several months long.

Posted: 10/7/18 at 3:23pmSo Nicolette extending to the end of the year also means she’s closing out the show, right?

Posted: 10/7/18 at 4:06pmI know someone in the show as well - they said production was going to give Stephanie a few weeks and then bring a “name” in, but plans fell through and Nicolette is extending. Which is great news as she is too good to have such a limited run.

Posted: 10/7/18 at 4:13pmEspecially for the holidays, they need a star. Nicolette is amazing in the show, but with the only person in the cast with name recognition is Al roker, thats a problem.

Posted: 10/7/18 at 4:14pmNo matter how well regarded she may be, she is not making the show any money. The show has built itself a celebrity crutch, and needs one to survive. They’ll have to find a name, or the show will close from money or pressure from other shows needing a home. Really hoping Sara returns to close it out, as I didn’t care for Nicolettes performance at all.

Probably would never happen, but Lea Michele as Jenna and Darren Criss as Dr. Pottamer would sell so well.

I don’t want to like this idea...but this would actually be fantastic.

Posted: 10/7/18 at 5:56pmIt sounds like no one is coming in, so my guess is Sara or Jessie will come back and this thing will close in early January. I dont see them lasting, even if they got a star, it would have to be a very well known name or it wont matter

Nic herself has said October 28th. So has any advertising she has been on. So have all her famous friends going to see her. It's October 28th until they announce an extension. But, she has not said anything yet nor has anyone else. Does anyone know who the next Dawn and Ogie are?

I have some issues with Lea Michele, but she is talented. I would easily go see this show again for this duo, and they have amazing chemistry which would be incredible. Now I can't get this idea out of my head..

I had similar feelings about Nicolette as well when I saw her last week. Her SUTBM was v emotional but the performance overall (and show as a whole also) just felt a bit flat. And jmo obviously but I don’t think she’s vocally as strong as the other Jennas (Disclaimer: I’ve not seen Stephanie). The theater was by no means full though so that was probably a factor too .... like you say, I agree they probably do need a name now, but I don’t think that’s so easy to do. They need to be famous enough (with the requisite singing talent to sing the score) to make a difference to the box office receipts, but anyone really famous probably wouldn’t do the show. Sara is an exception obviously.
As for how well the show needs to do to survive, idk what is profitable for them, so it’s hard to know. I can’t imagine it’s a super expensive musical to run as the set isn’t too elaborate and the cast is relatively small so maybe it’s current box office receipts are still acceptable. But they’re the lowest they’ve ever been right now, and have dropped over 30% the last 5 or 6 weeks. I’m sure the ptb must be a little concerned. Hopefully things will pick up in the next few weeks because I’d miss this show so much if it goes
