Aside from pre-announced closing dates, what Broadway show do you think will close next? What shows do you think will close by January? If anybody is good at analyzing the weekly grosses (I'm not!) I assume you could predict these pretty well?
Any advice appreciated!
I agree with the above, but think that will go in the New Year.
But ahead of that surely must be Million Dollar Quartet, I can't see this lasting past Labor Day.
AMERICAN IDIOT...sadly
I don't like to speculate weather a show is gonna close, but I think next to normal has a little left in it. Since it recouped it could last longer than most would think.
I think next to normal will either close in October, or sustain itself through the busy months of November and December and close at the end of the year. The end is near.
I think Next to Normal will make Christmas, but after that it's gonna get rougher. Hell, I'm thrilled that it lasted this long.
I don't see Night Music making it past Stritch and Peters' Nov 7 exit, though it just occured to me that Jenna Russell would be a fabulous Desiree.
If the Kate Winslet rumors are indeed true and that she will be taking over in January, I assume that the show will hold down the fort as well as they can until January 2011 for Kate. It's a shame that the show isn't doing very well, it has the potential to be much bigger than it is. IF Kate really does take over, I see the show running for a lot longer. Attach her to any project, and tickets will sell. This could just be the beginning.
The Kate Winslet rumors were refuted almost immediately.
Wait im sorry
N2N you think could last 2 months and thats it, oh please.
This show has never not made it's running costs back, it never falls dangerously low, and even after Alice left the show is still doing OK.

Million Dollar Quartet is a definate bet to close this year, it's doing just horribly. In the Heights is also said to be close behind, and aren't there a bunch of rumors about Priscilla in the Palace? I could also easily see Promises, Promises electing to shutter in December rather than continuing if they can't find adequate star power to fill the seats.
And sadly, next to normal. Or could the producers pull an avenue Q and just reopen at NWS?
Has tourist season even impacted Next To Normal that much? If not, then shouldn't it, for the most part, continue making within the range that it's been making for a while? And aren't its recent grosses "safe"?

Priscilla has the Palace.
PROMISES is really stupid for elcting to close the day after Christmas rather than waiting for the New Year. it could stand to make a ton of money and go out on a bang if it did.
However, if Promises does close. Sister Act could take it (unless they are vying for one of the big Nederlander houses)

With what cast do you propose they finish after the new year?

Have The current cast stay a couple more days till after the new year and close on 1-2

They extended to 12/26 for a reason. It's not like the producers can say "No, we want you to do the show for a few more days."
NEXT TO NORMAL is currently selling through October, I believe but don't take my word for it.

You can get tickets until December 19th.
"You can get tickets until December 19th."
Oh, even better.
Did I miss something? If Priscilla has the Palace is West Side Story closing?

The fact that they're selling tickets until December 19 means nothing. It could still close long before then.
