I saw Sherman go on as Melchoir on the Spring Awakening tour and he was absolutely excellent vocally. He can more than handle the score, and I'd love to see him as Gabe.
I think Kyle Riabko (also from Spring Awakening like Emma and Perry) would be a great Gabe in next to normal. Anyone else agree?
Riabko's voice can't handle the score from what I heard with HAIR.
The show opens in less than two months. Why haven't we heard any announcements?
It will often come when rehearsal resume. Could be as much as a month.
At the end of Ripley's run there were posts here about the (bad) state of Ripley's voice. Were these reports exaggerated? Will she last another run?
I saw her in June before she left the show on Broadway. She sounded pretty rough, but her voice wasn't completely shot. And from what I've heard of her final night, she sounded *better*, but still nowhere close to how she'd been at the beginning of the run. I'm hoping the time off was enough to help her out, but I'm not overly confident she can make it the whole tour without her voice going out again.
Kyle was atrocious in Hair but fantastic in Spring Awakening. I think this long break from next to normal on broadway and next to normal on tour will do Alice some good for her voice. The tour cast has been chosen, an announcement should be made in the next few weeks I would imagine. Trust me, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

I really hope so. That score really is a killer to do night after night.
I'm flying to Missouri just to try and catch her (missed her in NY, but Jessica Phillips was interesting and fresh). Will be disappointed if I miss her yet again (especially because I'm coming from Australia - not suggesting she is the only reason I'm going to the US though [only Missouri :P]). Just worried about her voice I guess.
I hope she can hold up until April. I've been talking this show up ever since I found out it was playing at the Fox, and how it would be a real treat to see the woman who won a Tony for the role in the show.
qolbinau - you comin' to St. Louis?
Steven22-- funny, my thoughts are almost the opposite I didn't like him at ALL in SA (Although I thought his falsetto was beautiful). Maybe, because of that, I was expecting the worst of his performance in Hair. But instead, I liked him -- and thought he was among the best of the replacements. (Didn't get to see Diana Degarmo, though -- and totally disliked the understudy.)
It opens here Jan 4th. I think the second stop on the tour. I am not crazy about the score but I hope her voice is good when it plays here. I will most likely be there for opening night.

Yep...N2N tour will be at the Fox when I'm going to NY in April.
dramamamma Kyle was great in SA in my opinion. Especially compared to Hunter Parrish. Attleast voice wise.

When I saw Perry Sherman in SA, it was when Kyle was out. And then I saw Kyle do the role later that week. Perry was WAY better, IMO.
Someone thought Preston Sadleir was Henry, and as good as he would be, he's involved with Me Myself, and I/possibly Carrie.
I would imagine official casting would be announced within the next few weeks. Anyone have any idea when? I have a general idea who will be in the cast, I'd just kuje a confirmation.
