Well, it's definitely not a Book of Mormon, but it isn't really as bad as everyone is saying. I saw it with my partner when it was in Philly and I thought it was funny. I think it's like a "Bring it On" kind of show, that is to say that on paper it looks terrible. "How could this show possibly be good?" But then when you see it, it's actually great. It has heart, it's funny, the songs were memorable. I still sing bits and pieces of that show to myself occasionally. I think it's a bit esoteric, it won't ever have the wide appeal, but I thought it was at least as good as Rock of Ages, with much cleverer writing.

The differences between Bring It On & Nerds are immense, but the biggest difference is that BIO was written by Tony, Grammy & Emmy (and a Pulitzer) winners. It was a musical theater all star team. I don't know who ANY of these writers are on Nerds.

It's funny but whenever I see "Nerds" my subconscious adds, "Revenge of the" and I actually assumed this was a musical version of Revenge of the Nerds.

"Didn't I see Nerds at NYMTF like a decade ago? Or it was something that sounds exactly like it. "

Yup, and every few years since then it would pop up regionally, always with Broadway rumors attached.

Now they came to fruition, I guess. I'm guessing it'll be something of anticlimax.

well, unless a miracle happens and NERDS is successful, it should be closed by Labor Day(the latest). I still say LAZARUS should come in for a limited 3-4 month run.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

"I loved the show and I do not like anything."

It's a shame you can only say a thing like that once because that's a great endorsement.

I'm not a producer but I know the show very well.  You guys will enjoy it.

Hi, Nerds producer! You're making a terrible mistake!

Re: Lazarus, I would assume part of the reason they haven't transferred would be the availability of its cast.

I'm coming to New York late April / early May, and I have been hoping that LAZARUS would transfer.  But that would make 3 van Hove shows on Broadway in a season already dominated HAMILTON.  So I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I'll keep watching the chat boards.

Never the less, I have my HAMILTON ticket, and there are a number of interesting shows opening.  But NERDS, DISASTER!, FULLY COMMITTED and the return of MOTOWN don't grab me.
