Night Music replacement rumor?

Vanessa Williams is going to be the new housewife on Wisteria Lane this fall. She won't be in NYC.

If Marin weren't rumored to be doing Next to Normal, I would totally pick her as Desiree. After all, she does have Sondheim ties from doing Passion. She would be sooooo good!

Well yeah, but she's no Elvira. I mean c'mon, she SCREAMS Desiree Armfeldt

I am going with Madonna.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

After hearing all this, I stand by Bernadette.

They wouldn't reconsider for Patti. She not right for this production. Donna Murphy isn't a big enough name to reconsider closing. Madonna is directing a movie this summer.

If Bernadette really wanted to play the part, she may be thinking, "It's now or never. What the hell?"

I agree Patti is completely wrong for this production. I just don't think she's right for the part in general. It is interesting that Patti was at the show Tuesday night though.

Good point. I think she's still sexy enough to pull it off.

Bernadette seems to be a shoe in then from most of the comments! Personally, I would love to come and see again if this were to be true! Could it make it out till the end of summer if she came into the show?

Bitch please, I'm hoping it lasts till next spring!!I (Unbelievably doubtful though).

At least there will be time to start new filming!Rumours! threads, if the show continues.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Why is it anytime a certain actor attends a show people assume that actor will be a replacement?
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

Because actors never go to see shows for entertainment like the rest of us.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Nor do they go to support the work of their friends and colleagues.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I heard Douglas Hodge will be the new Desiree.

I saw Britney Spears at a Jamba Juice a while ago. Does that mean she'll end up working there?

Mister Matt, I would actually love to see a drag performance of A Little Night Music, although not necessarily Douglas Hodge as Desiree.

You'll have to elaborate on the reasoning behind that one Voice, I can't imagine a drag production of NIGHT MUSIC being very fun at all, apart for about three of Madame Armfeldt's adroit quips. The rest of its way too sophisticated for drag...

My college did it with a man playing Madame Armfeldt.

Yes - it would be a job she would be well suited for.

Someone on ATC is now hinting that it IS Bernadette.

Imagine if Angela stayed and the show starred two of Sondheim's best leading ladies?

Night Music replacement rumor?

I didn't care for this revival but I'd be back in a second for Bernadette.

Now that I'm imagining this, though, won't she look odd surrounded by so many young people? Not that she looks bad, quite the opposite. But the cast is so young...

The only problem could be her being lovers with Aaron Lazar. There must be like a 30 year age difference there. But luckily Bernadette could still pass for 40s. She will look absolutely fine with Alexander Hanson if he stays.
