No More Wiz for Wayne Brady! This was so PREDICTABLE!

Why? Is he just not committed? Was there a better offer?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

In my honest opinion, I just don't find him committed.

Seriously, what could he possibly have to do now? Has he been in anything at all in the past year or so?

I actually don't find him appealing as a musical theater performer (judging from his stint as Billy Flynn) and I actually hope he also backs out from the Chicago 10th anniversary performance.

I didn't even know he was on the tour.
Honestly, I can't imagine he'd have been much of an asset to this production. He annoys me. A lot.

I love him on Whose Line, but...yeah, not surprised!

Aw, I think he is hilarious and a great talent, but that's just what I think from watching Who's Line.

I actually loved him in Chicago and Whose Line. Too bad.
I guess he just hasn't found his purpose.

Regarding the CHICAGO tour. He was only scheduled for the LA stop, which was a big deal. It featured Patti LaBelle as Mama Morton. But no Wayne drops out last minute, and the dependable Greg Harrison saved the day.

Didn't Patti LaBelle drop out as well during the LA run?
Never got the appeal of Wayne Brady, so I'm glad the role is going to someone else.

I don't celebrate mediocrity, so, it annoys me when someone of his "so-so" ability gets work on Broadway. It angered me when he was cast in "Chicago," and sickened me when he was cast in "The Wiz." I, personally, am glad that he's not subjecting anyone to his little-to-no talent...

excellent. im glad he's gone/ he was wrong for the part.. TOO OLD #1. and was he a dancer AT ALL? (and i dont mean tap shuffle) and lastly he is SOOOO flavor free vocally. the man can sing. but is devoid of any SOUL. again, EXCELLENT.

It's too bad he seems to be getting a flaky reputation. I too was hoping to see him in Chicago when he cancelled. I think he's super talented. Saw him at the Hollywood Bowl and would like to see him other stuff. At the very least, I bow down to his improv skills!

Not a good start for this already questionable revival.
Hope they have better judgement re-casting this role.

White people like Wayne Brady because he makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X.

I found him to him to be pompous and downright obnoxious on his talk show.

*sigh* I remember while waiting at the stage door at The Odd Couple, the announced Matthew and Nathan weren't coming out, so these too midle aged men started talking about who comes out and who dosen't (at stage doors) "Wayne Brady didn't come out at all after Chicago! I went to see it 5 times just to meet him and he never came out!"
He's great on Whose Line and had a small part in Geppeto but that's all that I liked him in. When I first heard he was playing the scarecrow I was excited but I knew he was going to drop out....so I bet my friend $50 he was going to....thanks Wayne! You got me 50 bucks!!!!

Naylor is a very talented singer and dancer and he's very easy on the eyes as well! I'm looking forward to seeing him.
