See, qolbinau gets it! It's all in good fun, and it's not as if he's mocking posts about race relations or sexual harrassment. These are threads about Noah Galvin and Betsy Wolfe, which are not exactly hot-button topics. I guess I just don't understand why anyone would find it offensive, and, yes, I would also be flattered if he chose one of my posts to read.

I agree, there were numerous people saying that "People are going to get rid of their tickets when Noah Galvin took over" regardless of whether it was Thanksgiving week or not it's not happening. Yes, people bought their tickets a long time ago but they're not getting rid of them.
Of course there was no "boycott". How would anyone contact the ticket holders to let them know how offensive his casting was? (scarcasm)
Like all the conservatives destroying their keurigs -- you showed that company, but destroyed your own property: they still have your money! If you stop buying tickets, you'll only hurt whoever comes in after Trensch....sort of, but not really.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I managed to win the lottery a couple of days ago, actually. Seat M 27.
I thought he was pretty good! His voice is great, and “For Forever” choked me up a bit. He doesn’t do nearly as much of the twitching that I saw Ben Platt do during the Tony performance, but he does do some of them. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, just different.
My problems lie in the show itself, not with any of the performers; I thought they all did a really solid job and I enjoyed myself.
A friend who was staying with us this past weekend saw the show yesterday and couldn't stop raving about the both the production and Noah. He said he sounded great
Saw the show again last night. I had low expectations (I saw Ben and didn't think anybody would come close to his performance). I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised. Noah was great - his voice was more than capable - actually stronger at points (although I didn't love his take on "If I Could Tell Her) and his acting was outstanding (I found myself feeling more "sorry" for Evan than I did when I saw Ben . The rest of the cast was top notch and the show really is great. So, I wouldn't hesitate grabbing a ticket (I got my orchestra row D seats 2 & 4 a week before the show for $199 each). If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
Saw this tonight via standing room, though we found seats right in front of us and sat for most of it.
I have qualms with the actual story - terrible person makes mistakes and no one cares - but I found the acting/singing across the board to be phenomenal. I found the two mothers to be the more interesting parts, and wish Thompson had been given a song or something to showcase what she was going through. For all the accolades, I just didn't feel the story was all that interesting. The last 30mins felt like...forever.
Galvin was quite good, though. I haven't seen Platt, but Galvin had a gorgeous voice. His acting was good, but kind of gave me very "musical theater" acting, and I didn't feel like it felt honest? But again, that kind of suits the character, so I don't know.
I saw him Tuesday night as well, from the front row, and I thought he was wonderful! I saw Ben and MLB (also great), and while its hard to compare to Ben, I thought Noah really did a great job. He had a super strong presence, he sounded great, and he had a stronger lower range than MLB. I also loved his comedic timing. He added some fun mannerisms and "voices" throughout that brought new life to some lines/scenes. I also saw Olivia Puckett on for Zoe, and while I was looking forward to her performance, I noticed she played Zoe as a bit angrier and sterner, which I wasn't a huge fan of. There were times when I felt her energy didn't necessarily match the others, but she was still very good. Also, I must admit that I missed Laura's straight tone...it just goes so well with the reverb and echo they use in "Requiem."
