I was watching The Music Man the other night (the Robert Preston version, not that horrible Matthew Broderick version) and I thought how perfect NLB would be as Prof. Harold Hill in a Broadway revival. Would NLB even do a revival? Thoughts?

I've thought the same thing! I would LOVE to see him in this role
I need a moment to wrap my head around someone having to tone it DOWN to play Harlod Hill.
OK...I'm in.
As long as I'm in, I'll suggest Katie Clark as Marian.
Hmm...that sounds interesting. Maybe.
I'd see it. I love him and have a huge soft spot for this show.
Good lord, that's perfect casting.
I will see anything Norbert does and this is no exception. And I nominate Kelli O'Hara for Marian.
not that horrible Matthew Broderick version
Broderick was miscast but the film itself is not horrible. The rest of the cast are fabulous and I can't help but smile when watching it.
As for Butz as Hill - I'd see it.
Ideally, Marian would be a little younger than O'Hara.

Wow, couldn't disagree more. For me, everything about that movie sucked. Broderick's performance was just the cherry on top of the big pile of poop.
Ideally, Marian would be a little younger than O'Hara.
Then there goes my suggestion of Kate Baldwin.
Oh, and I'd like to see LuPone as Mrs. Shinn.
I'll see Norbert in ANYthing. He'd be perfect as Hill.
Josh Gad as Marcellus!
givesmevoice, Kate Baldwin is playing Marian in a production at Arena Stage next year.
Perhaps Ana Gasteyer as Mrs. Shinn???

Yes, I know! I'm hoping I'll be able to get down to DC to see her.
And I love the idea of Ana Gasteyer as Mrs. Shinn.
Could we get Kristen Wiig to play Mrs. Shinn?
Katie Finneran for Mrs. Shinn. I could see Laura Osnes as Marian.
Josh Gad would be a good Marcellus, but I'll admit that I've love to see Seth McFarlane as Marcellus- since we've all heard his "Shipoopi" a million times anyway.
Yeah, but Seth in his actual singing and appearance is more of a Harold Hill...which, I would also like to see. :)

After seeing Eric McCormack play the role on Broadway, there's no other living actor I'd like to see in the role.
The reason it seems like a good fit is that he played Freddy in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. The two characters, though different in tone, share a ton of similarities. Would he be great? Obviously. Is it inspired casting? I don't think so. I find it quite predictable actually.

what about a Revival directed by Bartlett Sher?
