I know it's a bit late, but here's my review: http://scribicide.com/2012/08/30/true-wit-is-nature-to-advantage-dressed/

After putting it off for so long, I finally saw it tonight. I had such a great time. I really want to get the CD because I loved the music.
Anyways, before James got to the hummus, there was a ham & cheese sandwich and a granola bar from the orchestra and a PB&J sandwich from the mezz which had a note, apparently, that said "Thanks for all the joy you brought us." (paraphrasing) James seemed really touch by it.
Then in Act 2, James messed up on saying "Majorca" and broke to which Oliver said "And you won a Tony," making James laugh even more.

Ohhh! He kissed one of the guys last night, too. Right on the mouth. he also spanked them a lot.
It was such fun to see a show where it wasn't a big deal when the actors broke, the audience just ate it up and in a way it worked with the show. The actors clearly have a ton of fun with the show.
I finally saw the show tonight and I avoided all the spoilers. I do have to say that I am a bit disappointed that some of the ad lib scenes were scripted.
Though I believe there was 1 real one tonight. I was in the mezz so I couldn't see the person but apparently someone came in 45 minutes late and James asked if they would like it if he recapped the show for them. Then he said something like "you need to go buy a f*cking watch lol
Great show though, I needed a bunch of good laughs tonight. My only complaint is that I had a terrible time of hearing what "The Duck" was saying in the mezz.

I couldn't understand what the Duck was saying either, at least some of the time.
I saw the show three times because I love it, and there is a lot of ad libbing! Yes, some of it is scripted, but the part about the sandwich in particular varied a lot. I think Corden has a number of responses at the ready for any direction the play goes in, though. His delivery is terrific.
Saturday matinee he asked someone on the left side of the orchestra "are you going to be videoing the whole show?" I couldn't see the recipient of the question. Might this have been a true ad lib?
That's a true ad-lib.
The vanilla text is funny by itself, and a lot of it is indeed scripted, but the actors do a lot of their own flavoring of the text, either in minor one-liners or with interacting with the audience. The only "ad-libs" that aren't real are the hummus sandwich and the woman invited onstage.
The night I went, a woman in the audience (several rows back, mid-orchestra) offered a cup of wine- which James gladly took and drank.
When I went, James took one of the trunk-lifters' shirts off and said something like "you could use some exercise. just a few months of going to the gym and...[gestures at his own body as if to say "you could look like me"]. did that happen with anyone else?

saw the show a couple weeks ago and very much enjoyed but now that its closed and likely won't result in the joke being ruined (though I guess still technically a spoiler), does anyone know exactly how they do the joke where the two Francis-es are chasing the two different people and Corden ultimately shoo's the other one of stage? I didn't get a great look so couldn't tell if the one cast away was his understudy or if it was pre-recorded video or something (ala the last Sunday in the Park revival).
The second Francis is James' understudy, Brian Gonzales. They're about the same size and look, and are dressed in identical costumes. Brian never took a bow at the end of the performance until the final show.
I am so glad I caught this on it's final performance! I had actually thought it was closing later in the month and just happened to look at telecharge to see when it was closing on Saturday the 1st! I had such a wonderful time and the constant laughing was really healing to the spirit!
