YES!!!!!!!!!
Please get Cheyenne Jackson for Sam!!!!!
Fantastic News!!!! I can't wait for 2 shows in April now :)
quizking! That would be so good!
UM.... YES YES YES to Cheyenne!!!!!
So happy for this, and I hope Caissie and Sharon transfer!
I really hope they dont change it to much for Broadway because the NY Times did not like it when they watched it in London. It's a great show and should just transfer over straight (though they can cut the Ball of Wax song and the world we be a better place)
This is currently doing very well in London.
I hope it'll be embraced on the other side of the pond. It's a fantastic show.
I'd actually consider this a high contender for the Tony as well.
Aaron Tveit for Sam? Anyone?
Will there be a wet (or no) T-shirt contest for the role of Sam?

Patti LuPone for Sam!
In all seriousness, I don't think Tveit has enough of a name outside of the theatre world to play Sam, which is a shame because I think he'd be phenomenal in the role.

Someone with sources says that Caissie Levy is not transfering. Maybe the producers want her to stay with the London production at least through the Laurence Olivier Awards or maybe she just wants to stay in London.
If she is not doing it, then I hope Laura Michelle Kelly will play Molly.
Aaron Tveit for Sam? Anyone?
No.
Or maybe the producers don't want Levy.
Just started listening to the music from the London Cast Recording....Sounds great...can't wait for this to transfer!
A friend of mine saw it in London and could not have hated it more. And she was really looking forward to it. She also mentioned that Caissie Levy seemed beyond over it and wouldn't be shocked if she just chose to opt out of the transfer.
I saw this in London two weeks ago and absolutely LOVED it! The show was amazing and the special effects and set design were out-of-this-world. I am very excited to hear that this show is coming to Broadway, but isn't the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre a bit big? I mean, the Piccadilly Theatre has a much smaller house which allows for the special effects to work wherever you are sitting.
As for Aaron Tveit, as much as I love and respect him as a performer, I just don't see him playing this role in all honesty....
Great news... one thing... "Ball of Wax"... Change... Please.
^Yes, "Ball of Wax" was the one song that I had a problem with in the show as well.
And "Life Turns On A Dime"!
My cousin saw this in London and said it was honestly one of the best theatrical experiences she has ever experienced. The songs (with thee exception of ball of wax) were brilliant and the book kept the best parts of the movie and stuck pretty close to it while still having some nice differences. She also could not praise Cassie Levy enough (and this was only about a week and a half ago so the comment about her being "over it" I think is a stretch. She is not the only one I've heard say that Cassie is one of the strongest aspects of the show.)
Cheyenne or Aaron... I need a cast recording that doesn't make me cringe every time Sam sings.
I cannot see Aaron playing this part. Yes...vocally he would sell it and I'm sure he would do well in the acting department but for some reason I cannot picture him as Sam. He may prove me wrong but I just can't see it. Cheyenne may be a better option...but even there I still would have difficulty looking past him and see only Sam. Not because he is a bad actor cuz he ain't...he's a great actor/singer but for me...I dont see him as Sam. Personally, I hope they keep they bring Cassie along with Richard over. Richard just has something about him that is very charming. I doubt they will though.
For some odd reason Kyle Dean Massey keeps popping in my head for this part. No idea why...I think it's cuz he has alot of charm which Sam really needs cuz that is what made Molly fall in love with him and made her look past his quirks (the whole ditto thing)
OR
Jeremy Jordan
Gavin Creel (would love to see him do it)
I've been saying Gavin Creel since Richard opened his mouth in London. I will love to see that happen and I would love to see Caissie and Gavin together again. And include me in the bunch that adored Caissie and also loved the show.
I agree with Cheyenne Jackson, but you know that if he even gets an audition will be because they can't find a TV or film actor who can carry a tune and is willing to do Broadway.

They should cast Jonathan Groff as Sam... he even looks a bit like a young Patick Swayze. He can act and sing, and has charm.. I think he would do wonderfully in the role. Not sure if his name alone will be enough to sell out the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, but it sure would sell a lot of tickets to the tweens/glee fans seeing the way he was mobbed at the Flea Market.
