and let me tell you, I am still in awe of the show! I thought it was amazing! I loved every minute of it! From the beginning to end, I loved this show! And (not to sound like a wuss or anything) I cried too! Gosh, now it's like one of my favorite broadway shows now.

It wasn't that great when I saw it a few weeks ago....however, back in the day (when I was younger), it was phenominal....I guess realizing that there are strings doesn't really do it for me....

It's visual stunning, but the rest of it is weak, but still a good time out.

It has been and remains the finest show on Broadway. Puts all the other pikers in the shade.

Yikes! Sorry...this is Kevin Gray as "Scar". He sent this to me in an e-mail. Obviously I've not figured out how to post normal sized photos. Help!

I saw this show a few years ago and while I will admit that it had an excellent opening number, after that it totally went downhill for me.

Lion King is still my favorite Broadway show of all time. It is a great piece of work and I've never been so amazed with a show in my life. I still love watching on YT the opening number from the Tony's. Simply amazing!!

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Honestly, I don't see why people don't like it more. I loved it. I thought the costumes were extremely innovative and the music wonderful.

I just feel like those first ten minutes, the entire "Circle of Life" sequence is just so incredible, so visually, aurally and just sensorally overpowering that the rest of the show tries to play catch-up and just can't top those first ten minutes. There is an unfortunate imbalance in the show where the first moments are incredible and then nothing can challenge that so you have two hours and twenty minutes of less than amazing material because the standard was set to high.

Sumofallthings: I guess I just didn't see it that way. While the "Circle of Life" scene was by far the best part, I didn't lose interest throughout the rest of the play. I mean, for a story involving just animals, it's incredibly human and touching. While the rest of the play might not have been as jaw-dropping as the first ten minutes, one cannot deny a good story or great music.

bwayonabrain- Kissy Simmons is still with the show, in the Broadway cast.

I love love love The Lion King. I'm glad to see that at least two other people do. That is a really great cast you saw- Kevin Gray, Tim McGeever, Danielle Lee Greaves. Out of curiousity, was this the Cheetah Tour or the Gazelle Tour, ie where did you see it?

Dean: Can I tell you something? Lorraine: That depends on what it is. Dean: I think you're really really pretty. Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.

I love the make up design for Scar. Having seen Patrick Page several times, I can't imagine a more perfect Scar. But Kevin looks great in the role.

RIP Jason Raize. re: Oh man, I saw The Lion King last night..

His "Endless Night" is the definitive version for me. Anyone who has lost a beloved father could be moved to tears hearing (and seeing) that performance. I know I was.

I loved The Lion King.

My friends cousin played Young Simba, and I saw it with my friend. (It was my first time seeing it) And I loved it. I don't think my friend did though..

TLK is easily one of the three most boring shows currently on Broadway, with The Phantom of the Opera being no. 2. and Beauty and the Beast being No. 3.

I liked it when I saw the show on broadway, but i just recently saw it on tour and it was absolutely horrible, the worst show i have ever seen. The older simba's voice was so horrid at some points , but don't get me wrong I love this show.

When I saw it, I thought the costumes and the puppets and everything were of course amazing, but the entire cast seemed so disinterested and not there at all. But then again, I can't really blame them, some of them after all were playing a giraffe's backside.
