Always radiated niceness, a fine actress, beautiful voice and movie star good looks. We won't see her like again.

Yes! When she comes strutting down toward the end of the song - THAT PART!""

I have never met anyone who has a bad word to say about Olivia.
Rest In Peace....
Several years ago at the Chicago Theatre on State Street, she opened with Xanadu.
I especially liked the mid-concert segment in which she sang full songs from icons who had passed: John Denver, Karen Carpenter, and Jim Croce.

I can't remember the last time my heart sank like this upon hearing the news of a celebrity death.
John Travolta wrote the sweetest tribute. So sad he has lost 3 loved ones to this disease.
Don’t Cry for Me Argentina — ONJ
Was she ever in the running for any of the early attempts to bring Evita to the screen? The show’s initial popularity definitely overlapped with her career high points/popularity.

As I recall, after the box office & critical failures of Xanadu and Two of a Kind, she soured on the movie making business. When she did return later to acting, it was in smaller scale productions. Also, after the birth of her daughter Chloe in 1986, she took a two-or-three year hiatus to focus on being a mom.

Actually, she was. At the time ALW ( of course ) said her recording of “ Argentina” was the best he heard. But at the time, he was chasing Streisand to make the movie, but she had no interest. She suggested her friend ONJ for the film, hot off the success of GREASE. ALW started talks with ONJ, but the project went nowhere. She opted for XANADU instead - the rest is history.

Jane Seymour Talks “Special Bond” with Friend Olivia Newton-John"
Thank you for sharing these beautiful videos. Heartbreaking that she's gone, but what a woman! A beautiful person who touched all our lives with her talent and her humanity.
All this week of my work trip, I couldn’t wait to get home to listen and listen to my ONJ records, most of which I’ve owned since I was a teenager in the 70s & 80s.
It’s been said that after seeing her in GREASE, Richard Gere wanted her for “ Officer and a Gentleman “ but she turned him down. Then he wanted her for “ Yanks” but she turned that down, as well. Too bad she left us with XANADU and TWO OF A KIND.
This was such a huge loss. She was such an icon that transcended generations. She turned her unfortunate cancer diagnosis into her life's purpose in helping and improving the quality of life of those that were also suffering from the disease. Her career was performing, but I truly believe her life's purpose was to help those in need through her Olivia Newton John Cancer & Wellness Research Centre in Melbourne and Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund which her performing career along with a massive amount of fund raising support helped her to achieve.
She was truly an angel on earth, a warrior, a survivor and a shining example to us on how to live your life with integrity, grace and love.
I wonder if we will see an ONJ jukebox musical on stage in the next few years? Hopefully much better than Summer !
I was thinking about this and surprised myself by how much I want it. I even think this is a case where I (unexpectedly; I tend to not like bio-musicals) would want a bio-musical rather than a new story.
I heard she was offered Blood Brothers on Broadway. Pre or post Petula Clark. After Stephanie Lawrence. She would have been quite wonderful - the role vocally a good fit - and sold through the roof.
I know some of you are probably tired of all my Olivia posts, but I’ve found it healing to listen to her music and watch these videos. She was a true spirit of light and I don’t say that casually.

Also:
Four more of Newton-John’s Top 10 country hits of her heyday also make the new Country Digital Song Sales chart. “Have You Never Been Mellow,” which was No.3 country and a pop No.1 in 1974, is now at No.11; “I Honestly Love You,” another pop No.1 and No.6 country in 1974, is at No.15; “Please Mr. Please” (No.5 country, No.3 pop) makes the digital chart at No.17; and “If You Love Me (Let Me Know)” at No.21.
