Moving back to NYC after 3 years away. I’ll be back about a week before my new job starts on June 11. Goal: see as many shows as possible in that week! I’ll be rushing/entering lottos for most shows, but currently do have tickets to both Kinky Boots and Three Tall Women for Wednesday, June 6.
On Sunday, June 11 I’m thinking about doing Sweeney Todd at 2 pm and Spongebob at 6:30 pm. This order would allow me to get home a bit earlier to bed before my job starts the next day, I’d also prefer to end on a lighter show. I’m wondering if I should try to rush Spongebob before Sweeney? The box office doesn’t open until 12, so it seems like a bit of running around (Spongebob rush, down to Sweeeney, back up to Spongebob). Should I just buy a ticket to Spongebob in advance?
Any other lighter fare shows to see on Sunday night? Besides Once On This Island, I just saw this while in NYC searching for a new apt.
If rush/lottos don’t work out, I’m looking into Off Broadway shows. One that caught my eye was Single Rider. I’ve never seen anything that was brand spanking new, so it could be a fun experience. Has anyone seen this? Or have other Off Broadway recommendations?
Yes, I do know that website and it is very helpful. But logistically I’m not sure if rushing Spongebob before a Sweeney Todd matinee would be doable/worth the savings.
If you're going to be living here, why the need to pack in as much as possible in the first few days? Will your new job schedule allow you the time to see shows? Why not just see a matinee and then get a good night's sleep before your first day at the new job?
