"It's Roundabout so unless they say otherwise it'll be a limited run and no cast recording."
They've done cast recordings in the past.
They've done a bunch of cast recordings, lol.

So they finally cast all theater actors and everyone starts bitching that it's not up to Broadway par.
Roundabout also has a great track record in terms of musical revivals, BIRDIE notwithstanding.
110 in the Shade, Pajama Game, Nine, Assassins, Sunday..., Cabaret, etc.
All of which were recorded.

I think Laura Osnes is a great choice. I usually can't stand the character of Hope, but maybe she'll change my mind. I love Sutton, but I think she's a strange choice for Reno... and WHY do they always try and make her blonde??? She's very pretty as a brunette, blonde wigs just look strange on her.
Usually, if one of the revivals wins the Tony for Best, there is a cast recording. At least that's how I remember... lol.

I think Sutton has the odd capacity to look natural in any wig she's given, no matter the color.

I'm sort of glad they didn't go with a red wig, since LuPone was a redheaded Reno. Although I agree Foster looks great as a brunette, the blonde hair works.
I'm curious to see what color wigs Osnes and Stone have.

"the blonde hair works"
The blonde really worked for her in "Young Frankenstein." I don't think she should have blonde in real life though.

Personally, I've only ever seen Hope as brunette and Erma as blonde. In fact, I think Hope's hair needs to be different than Reno's just to set her apart physically.
Nothing against Joel Grey but I kinda would have liked to have seen the chemistry between Stone and her husband Christopher Fitzgerald.

^In my production, Reno was a brunette, Erma was a redhead, and Hope was a blond.

In the 1987 Lincoln Center revival, it was just the opposite! (not that I was there) That's why I commented on it, because I agree that Hope and Reno need to be physically different from each other. I could actually see Osnes as a brunette and Stone as a brassy redhead.

Being that I was 8 years old and wouldn't be seeing any Broadway show for another 10 years I didn't get to see that production

Being that Laura is a brunette I could see it too . And definitely agree on Stone being a redhead. Could work for the character.

Isn't Reno usually a redhead?
I'm not sure what kind of wig Linda Hart wore when she understudied and later replaced Patti, but I'm pretty sure Leslie Uggams wasn't a redhead. I don't think they gave Chita Rivera a red wig either.
