Incidentally, why would they pour red paint on Ms. Lansbury? I don't get it.

It was a joke. PETA has been known to do that before, and I was imagining the reaction from the theater community if they did that to an octogenarian who is theater royalty.

Phyllis, all I'm saying is that PETA takes it upon themselves to decide when to kill unwanted pets, and they apparently do it often. That, in my eyes, makes them hypocrites if they then try to tell people they shouldn't wear a fur hat or leather loafers while eating their ham and eggs.

Hypocrisy -- a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess.

Thanks, I know what the word means. Look up "bias" while you're at it.

So you're saying it's more ethical for an animal to be euthanized by being shot than by an injection?

Most people don't give an eff about PETA or what they do. It's just easier to point fingers at them and make them the boogieman instead of examining the mistreatment of animals to become food and clothing. And then you have your people like Roxy, who really don't know what they are talking about.

I, for one, have never seen anyone eating ham and eggs telling someone not to wear fur. Is that a New York PETA thing?

the thing is, attention is now directed to what PETA is protesting. Agree with their motives or not. Anyway, protesting peacefully is our rights as American citizens.
besides, fur is not glamorous or necessary. Did anyone research what they are protesting her for and why? Look it up and see the reality of the fur industry.
I'm not going to be there protesting, but I applaud anyone who stands up for what they believe.,,and animals skinned alive and abused, and prodded only for FUR needs someone to speak up for them when they can't defend themselves.
People criticize PETA for "crossing the line", but how do we know where the line is until it is crossed?

Phyllis Rogers Stone, I personally think it is more humane to give an injection to an animal rather then shooting it. However, it does bother me that PETA is willing to let any healthy animal die rather then trying to give it a good home.
