First preview is this coming Tuesday, the 13th! Anyone planning on attending? I won't get to go until sometime in April, but I am very curious to read thoughts and first reactions. I've got a friend in the ensemble and she's relaying good things, so I'm excited, not to mention its Orfeh's return to the stage!
Anyone know how well this is selling? Wondering if I should wait for them to announce a rush policy.
I don't have much of an interest in seeing PRETTY WOMAN in Chicago, but I managed to snap this photo last weekend when I was there to see LOVE NEVER DIES...

I'm going on the 31st. I'm sure someone will report before then, but I'll give my thoughts.
I'm going on the 30th! My first trip to Chicago solely to see this show. I have been waiting years for this musical, this cast, this creative team, this should be amazing and I really hope it is.

Through my subscription I have tickets for the 13th. I can’t help but think it’s eorher going to be great or an absolute mess (taking into account how messy the first preview of a new show can be). But I’ll report back once I’ve seen it.

I saw the invited dress rehearsal last night.
It’s definitely in good shape, they only stopped once because of a blown lightbulb right after the jewellery box snap - though some things still need to be tweaked. Steve Kazee was a little flat throughout, but Samantha Barks was incredible. Orfeh’s entrance was fun but she’s still kinda Paulette in this.
The set is pretty colorful and it overall screams Jerry Mitchell.

How's the score and the "updated story"? I live in chicago and I keep going back and forth on this. I'm not a huge fan of the film, but I like the creative team that is involved.
Just checked the broadway in Chicago special offers page and they do have rush tickets. If anyone rushes the first couple of days please let us know how the line is and what kind of seats they are offering. Thanks!

The story isn’t really “updated”. It’s not explicitly said when it’s set but it’s obviously the 90’s. The score is a little repetitive and Vivian’s first big song is comparable to Stacey Orrico’s ‘More To Life’. You’re pretty much watching the movie on stage with musical numbers. Besides that, I really enjoyed it

Also curious about the rush. I will be in Chicago towards the end of the run and haven’t tried rush in Chicago yet

I'm likely going to rush tomorrow and will report back with info!
Did they keep the popular songs from the movie (It Must Have Been Love, King of Wishful Thinking, Pretty Woman) in the stage version? I realize Bryan Adams is doing the score but wondered if they kept these crowd pleasing songs.
Happy to hear this early positivity! I’m going to the April 7 matinee. Super excited-love this cast and film!

Not that I recall. There were no Playbills so I don’t have a song list. Pretty Woman definitely isn’t in it. I was surprised that it wasn’t played at the curtain call - though, maybe they’ll change that later?
Interesting that the only very negative review someone posted (albeit from the dress rehearsal) got deleted...
