Posted: 5/1/09 at 5:34pmI wish I could see it. I really enjoyed the Broadway production. I always love Michael Rupert, who is a sweetheart, and Wayne Wilcox was fantastic in Light in the Piazza at the Goodman.

So who else is going to see this?
I saw 1776 this past weekend and loved it for the most part! It was my first experience at the Papermill, and I had a great time.
I was given 2 free tickets by a friend to see The Full Monty, and I am very excited! I feel bitchy and Stritchy and manic!

Posted: 5/18/09 at 6:29pmI really want to go. This sounds awesome. Will this juts be like the Broadway show, or will it be a newly designed/staged production?

It's a newly designed, directed production.
I already have tickets to see it twice. I'm super excited!

Posted: 5/18/09 at 8:01pmGot tickets as well. The MONTY score is one that I grew to full appreciate only after owning the CD. I remember being more indifferent to it in the theater, thinking it only servicable. I was wrong (though I do not think the wives' numbers are in the same league as the rest of the score).

Posted: 5/19/09 at 12:36amI love the score. I love Elaine Stritch. But I feel an inexplicable revulsion to Michael Rupert. Actually, it's explicable, I found his performance as Marvin in the Broadway mounting of Falsettos to be so smugly self-satisfied that I just wanted to scratch. It's like her performance gave me hives. I got to see Robert Westenberg's wang in that role, I have no need to ever see Rupert's.
