Seriously.
Not only do these songs have extremely similar song structures, melodies and themes (and the same composer/lyricist), but the tune of the last part of each song is near identical.
Just listen to the end of "Part of Your World":
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love, love to explore that world up above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world
And then the end of "Somewhere That's Green":
Far from Skid Row
I dream we'll go
somewhere that's green.

You act like this is a new thing.
Great Scott, and I think he's re-used the melody from "Our Kind of Love"!
This was news in 1989.
And it wasn't even news then.

"Not While I'm Around = No One is Alone"
No.
^^Yeah, they have similar themes, but they don't really sound that similar. But No One Is Alone does have the same melody as The Candyman from the Willy Wonka movie, at least the first part, anyways.

The first phrases of "Candy Man" and "No One is Alone" are identical in pitch, but not rhythm.
76 Trombones = Goodnight My Someone
Chita = Rita?
