I will be in Philly from the 16th thru the 21st. Tix are not expensive. Curious if there is a promo code though and how do you qualify for industry tickets?

From the Wilma's website:

Student/Industry Tickets*
$10

*must present Student ID or proof of working in the theater industry (business card, equity card, contract, pay stub, etc) in person, photocopied and faxed to 215-893-0895, or scanned and emailed to [e-mail]

TodayTix has tickets for $25/$30 depending on the date.

Just an FYI: there's no difference in pricing between TodayTix and the Wilma's website. All tickets are $25 for the preview period and $30 for the rest of the run regardless of what source you buy from.

Wrong.  The last two weeks are $45, not $30.

TodayTix isn't selling tickets for that portion of the run. At least not at this time.

any updates? wondering if this is close to the original Broadway production, or something more radical?

What a beautiful show. I didn't get to see it in New York, but I've watched Spike Lee's film several times and listened to the score on repeat for almost a decade.

This production is small, but mighty. Scott Pask's set is all black with projections and lighting, plus live GoPros projecting on the wall with a few small TVs serving as set pieces here and there.

Jamar Williams and Kris Coleman are giving breakout star performances. 

Watching it with my mom was such a moving experience, getting to share my worries as I'm trying to figure out what I'm trying to do with my life as she's trying to help me get through this phase. It's such an uplifting, touching show, and I can't recommend it enough.

Hey everyone! A user PM’d me asking about the volume level and I wanted to post what I wrote!

The show was pretty loud at times (for effect, ugh), my mom and I were both bothered by it. It’s such a tiny space (maybe 200 seats?) so you’re right up in it.

Conversely, I did see a lot of people visibly wince during the loud moments, so i’m guessing the creative team are aware of it and will probably dial it down a little. It was only the first week of previews, so they’re sure to make tweaks, I’m hoping they’ll address the volume.

Wow, caught this today having never watched the video, listened to the cast recording or anything, and it was a pretty phenomenal show and production. Stew is even performing in the lobby in the cafe on Monday the 29th, if anyone is interested in that, as well:

I'm going to see it with 2 friends and have never been to this theater before.  Any thoughts on seating for this show?

I'm looking at tickets in row f and g, sort of to the sides, or row h middle. Thanks!

No bad seat in the house! It’s all stadium seating, extremely intimate space. Last row is maybe 20 feet from the stage?

.....its a rock musical....you expected it to be quiet? lol

I'm the one who asked about the volume level.  Rock musical doesn't mean uncomfortable.  If people are visibly wincing, the sound designer has some work to do.

The Broadway production, one of the most affecting shows I've ever seen, wasn't uncomfortably loud. It was just amazing.

I saw it Saturday, and didn't have any issue, and we were in the front row.
