Hello,
Since Tower Records is closing, I have spent most of my time in amazon.com to find Original Cast Recording CD's that are used and cheap. I was lucky enough to find the ones I want for a very low price.
I saw this Patti LuPone CD. It is the live recording of her concert in LA. It contains really interesting tracks besides her signature songs. Being a fan, I want to get it. But I want to hear from you people. Is it worth the money?
Thanks again and God Bless!

It's a great album. She's in fabulous voice and tells some great stories. I say go for it!

Just so you're aware, there is a full version and a highlights CD. I'd recomend the full recording.
Thanks for all the help guys.
Already ordered. Cant wait to get my hands on them!
GOD BLESS!
Patti LuPone LIVE album is spectacular. I highly recommend it. Her rendition of 'Being alive', among other things, is worth the price of both discs.

Wait till you hear her do "Calling You/Get Here". It is amazing. I just love the first half of the concert where it's mostly not her signature tunes. She is a thrilling vocalist and song interpreter.
Love this CD...
but I have the
"highlights" version.
I think I'll look up
the full 2disc version
and order it.
It's sad about Tower.
I'll miss the store near
Lincoln Center in NYC
and the Buckhead store
in Atlanta. They had great
showtunes sections.
Oh...Patti LuPone Live
features John McDaniel on
piano and as musical director.
She concludes it with a
sample of Sunset Boulevard.
So this was recorded just
before her London run as
Norma Desmond.
Was it before her London run or after? I am confused, cause I know what happened when she got fired from the production in Broadway. All the while I thought that it was after, and this is like her "hello" to Broadway concert which did not happen since she did not get the part.
Are the songs on this CD complete or are they short versions of the songs?
They're full, I mean, it doesn't have the beginning of Meadowlark, but I've never heard anyone sing the beginning other than in the show.
It's a little heart breaking how hopeful she sounds about Sunset Boulevard.

One of these days I'm going to sneak into the PBS archives and steal the "Colm Wilkinson with Patti LuPone" concert. And I'm going to broadcast it more than once!!
