That title was on Amazon before she did this contest. Something is so fishy here.

Nevermind that they picked that title, I can't believe someone had the lameness to submit it!
My favorite entry they listed: "Mein Kampf."
ljay, I don't know if I'd say something is "fishy," but I do think it's ridiculous.
you would think she could come up with something a little more creative?
Maybe no one submitted anything....

My submission was "Patti LuPone: Okay, what had happened was..."
Oh, well.
Amazon was listing this exact title BEFORE she did the contest. I think she had her mind made up before the contest.

Yeah, the title was announced on here, too, wasn't it? I know I remember people getting up in arms because it wasn't a "great" title.
Phyllis, the 'contest' ended on March 30th, so I think today was the official announcement. Obviously that was a waste of everyone's time though...haha

No, I mean, back when she was writing a book I thought the title "Patti LuPone - A Memoir" was announced.
Wow. I love how Playbill decided to play it up and say, "No, no! It's a tell-it-like-it-is. It's blunt. It's so Patti. No, trust us, it'll be great."
My submission was "Stop Taking Pictures!"

So it's a really dumb April Fool's joke?
Bahaha, all these "submissions" are killing me. I'm dying. I'm laughing too hard. Jordan's is priceless.

I think it is an April Fool's joke. Patti is more original than to have THAT tagged on her book.
That's a rather elaborate April Fool's Day joke.
It's not like she just announced a title and didn't award the prize. Someone DID win, albeit not with a very creative suggestion.
Damn it, I came so close with "Betty Buckley: A Memoir."
+1, Reggie.

This just made my day. I love the suggestion "It's Been 29 Years!" along with "Mein Kampf". Maybe it is an April Fool's joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. You have to remember that an average person walking into a bookstore would have no idea what "It's Been 29 Years!" or most other titles refer to. I'm not saying the average person will recognize her name, but it's better than an inside joke.
This title has been listed at BN.com for over 3 months?!?
