Danny Burstein
Melissa Mcarthy
Jack Black
Dan Fogler
Josh Gad
Christopher Fitzgerald
I would actually love to see CSC do this show. I think the show would work beautifully in more intimate setting.
Fitzgerald played the role at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and the Two River Theatre. By all accounts, the production was fantastic.
James Corden would be perfection.
Short of James Corden, maybe Taran Killam? Christian Borle? Can Chris Pratt sing?

Or maybe Lin, I dunno. I just think he'd do alright.

This was an all-male production directed by Fitzgerald's wife, Jessica Stone. From what I understand, it's been trying to make the jump to New York for some time now, with several false-starts. I wasn't as enamored of it as many others, but the Two River production had a fine Hysterium in Michael Urie.

Wasn't Corden all but announced for a revival that fell through when he got his talk show?
It was announced, with Alex Timbers directing, for spring 2015. But then Corden got his TV gig and it was postponed indefinitely. Some other names were bandied about for a while--I think Josh Gad and Jim Parsons among them--but for all intents and purposes, that production seems dead.
I seem to remember the plan the producers announced was to open the show with Corden, and then rotate various TV stars through the show, including Jim Parsons and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Obviously, that never materialized.

If they wanna go for diversity, maybe Daveed Diggs?
Geoffrey Rush played the part recently and should reprise his role. He is old and can't sing, but he is probably a bigger draw than most mentioned in this thread and he was reasonably funny.

I could not even imagine the horror of sitting through Forum with Josh Gad.

I agree!! I would love to see that all-male production in NYC sometime soon!
Jack Black would be really fun and the idea of Melissa McCarthy is inspired!!!
JIM. PARSONS. He has been my dream Pseudolus for quite a while. If the powers-that-be ever decide to listen to me and do a proper adaptation of this show for film...he needs to be in that, too. Lol
Also, Judy Kaye for Domina because I need to hear her slay "That Dirty Old Man."
I saw Christopher Ftizgerald at the Two River Theatre. It was my first time seeing the show and I thought he was quite brilliant. Michael Urie as well.
I think James Monroe Iglehart could be really great!
When he is older, Ben Platt had potential, but I think he is a little too young now. He has pretty great comedic timing.
Also, after seeing "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", I think Michael Wartella could do it someday. He had a great scene with physical comedy last night, and Pseudolus is a pretty physical role.
... Can I throw Ginger Minj's name in the mix? I want a RuPaul queen on Broadway and Ginger has the voice.

Uh...no. Not unless you plan to stage the show in your living room. It's a star role and requires star casting. He would sell about 2 tickets --- and that INCLUDES his mom and dad!

That's a real winning endorsement there. Perfect for the marquee- "A Reasonably Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Forum."
