Yes, the closer you are the more tiny details you will notice, but this show is one that I like to see the whole stage picture to take it all in without having to shift my focus all over the place.

Posted: 9/15/10 at 9:17pmI definitely think this is a show that is more enjoyable from farther away. I sat on the mezzanine towards the center when the tour came to my city last year and it was a perfect view. If the theatre has a second balcony level stay away from of it. You will not be able to see a thing. Enjoy the show!

I say it depends on if you've seen the show before...
If it's your first time, stay at least 10 rows back. If not, go for the close seats. I saw Phantom from very close once or twice and it was really cool.

Posted: 9/19/10 at 1:00pmWe sat 15 rows back when it was here in Denver. Perfect seats. We didn't have to crane our necks to look up.

Posted: 9/20/10 at 8:35pmI saw it first front row, which was very cool but it blocked out some of the views, which was a little disappointing, but the experience was cool. I saw it again in about the 17th row, and got the full effect, but you couldn't see the details. So go for mezz.
