"If the show has a strong director AND Barbra allows herself to be directed....she'd be phenominal. What a magical return to Broadway it could be for her....IF she allows herself to be directed.
....and imagine THAT stage door!"
pc, Im talking about the movie.
Its a movie....what stagedoor?
A guy can dream, can't he?
Besides, all of that holds true except for the stage door part. Barbra hasn't allowed herself to be directed in decades, except for the Fockers (arguably)so a strong director could make her relevant in movies again.
I would love to see Meryl do this.
pc, you know who'd be good for the Broadway revival?
muscle.....agreed. You and I saw Grey Gardens at the same time so yes, we have exactly the same take on Christine. However, I'd lose my mind if Barbra would do it.
I know it will never happen...and probably shouldn't happen...but I'd kill to see it.
Well, since we are dreaming...
Or Betty Schaeffer herself
Muscle, where did you get that first picture of Babs with her "Yentls" all hanging out? PEREZ HILTON. I doubt Babs approved that photo.
Back on topic. I love Lorings idea for the poster with Glenn's lurking eyes. How fab would that be? Plus there could be posters to target all demographics- Joe and Betty embracing, Norma and Joe embracing, Joe in a swimsuit, Norma with her hand on her forehead very dramtically. The possibilities are endless.
And I want a really hot Joe Gillins...
Joe has to be HOT and some male nudity would nice too. Maybe a torrid love scene.

SUNSET BLVD.
I think Matt Cavenaugh would be a great Joe.
Debra. (Okay...it'll never happen but she was my favorite Norma.)
Was she the Australian Norma?
Yes, Debra Byrne was the Australian Norma Desmond. Hugh Jackman was her Joe Gillis.
Yes. Debra Byrne was Melbourne's Norma with Hugh Jackman as Joe.
Jinx! You owe me a Coke BrodyFosse123.
He looked amazing back then, I think he's too old to play Joe now, but if he were cast, I'd be happy with it.
Fair enough! Give Stacey a ring with the details.
She made her Broadway debut in Sunset Blvd., as Betty's understudy, and I got to see her in it!
Would she be a good pick for the movie (as Betty)?
Who is it?
Well, that's none-other than Amy Spanger (in a red wig) as Lois in the recent Broadway revival of KISS ME, KATE.
I would personally like to see Glenn do the film, but what it really comes down to is who will sell more tickets, and I think Meryl Streep is a bigger name than Close, at least right now. Love the idea of Anne Hathaway as Betty!
