I think he's good looking, but "the hottest guy on broadway" is a lot of a stretch.

I don't think he is, either. Shrug.
Well, I think he is.
He's alright, but there are a million better looking actors out there. God, what a dull interview.
Kind of weird to ask someone in an interview if they think they're attractive.

But you have a line where you say you’re surprised he’s into women.
It’s just a dig. Like, “I’m surprised you’re into anything other than war.”
Not having seen the revival, I can't go for context, but just knowing the original that's a really weird take on that line.
Having seen the revival twice, I am very confused on his take on that line. It's clearly a dig at his sexuality, it seemed like everyone on stage and in the audience knew that. Weird.
I'm surprised Kyle Dean Massey is into thinking about his lines.
That interview gets terrible quickly. What awful questions.
" I love it when that guy pinches your butt."

Not bad looking for 32. Too old to be playing Pippin.

It is an awful interview and none of the fault sets with Kyle Dean. What is more awful? This thread.
It's weird you decided to contribute in it then
A lot of people say he is too old to play Pippin but he actually is identical to the way Matthew James Thomas played the role.

MJT does not look 32.
^ Agreed- MJT looked really young in the role. Kyle is 6 years older then Matthew.
I didn't care for everything about his performance, but his age never once was a conceren while watching.
While he's "attractive", I agree...he's not GREAT looking. But what an odd interview at all.

Erik Altemus is the hottest guy in Pippin.

Not bad looking for 32.
Seriously. It's so rare to look good past 30!
You all have some crazy high standards, LOL! I'm not a fan of KDM's acting/singing, but I would consider him very attractive. At least in the 90th percentile in looks compared with the general population.
Whom do you people consider "great looking"?
Not having seen the revival, I can't go for context, but just knowing the original that's a really weird take on that line.
Well, I dunno if Christopher Chadman gave it a fruity sensibility or not, but that's how I've always interpreted the line. Pippin's family is populated by perverse stereotypes, his fantasies filled with frightening characters of his own creation. If Lewis were gay, it would undermine the impact of the incestuous relationship clearly indicated between Fastrada and Lewis. It would also subvert Lewis' position as the masculine soldier Pippin aspires to be, yet never will be. While the part has often been played as gay because of misreading that line, I've always believed Pippin isn't shocked that Lewis is interested in women instead of men; he's shocked Lewis is interested in women instead of war and killing.
I dunno... If we're going for the whole perverse family created in Pippin's mind angle, having Lewis both be so much a mama's boy that it borderlines (or even is) incestuous and then having him otherwise be seen as gay would play into plenty of gay paranoia beliefs even from the early 1970s (if not now.) Ditto with his introduction where the Leading Player says something or rather about how Lewis most of all loved himself (with Fosse staging it as Lewis worshiping his own body) which plays into the gay/body self worship stereotype. The fact that all of these 1970s gay stereotypes may not really make sense when joined together means little, IMHO, since Pippin itself is such a hodgepodge. (And really if the players playing Pippin's family are meant to be seen as some sort of nightmare of Pippin's it's not too odd that at one moment Pippin would see his brother as cozying up to his mom and in an another as being obsessed with the bodies of other soldiers.)
