This is really unfortunate. re: Pirate Queen to close June 17 I'm glad I'll be in NYC to be able to see the finished product, at least.

I'm really sad this show is closing. I'm glad I got to see it a few times. Does anyone know of a discount code (preferably one of the $35 ones) that would apply to the closing perf? I have one from the Daily News but it is not for Sunday shows.

Not the greatest, but still sad to see it go.

Good luck to the entirety of the talented, phenomenal cast, especially the incredible SJB.

Hope to see her in something amazing very soon.

I'm surprised they didn't give more notice, I think this is the sort of thing a lot of people would have come out to see in its closing weeks. I'm glad I got to witness Hadley Fraser's Broadway debut.

Of course this isn't Mel's fault. We'll see how he does trying to sell all those seats in this barn.

Not too shockin,g but Stephanie is a talent and I hope she chooses better vehicles.

That popped into my mind.

The book and score they had wouldn't have worked in the West End, the South End or the North Pole.

What I wonder is how it would have turned out if Doherty and McColgan had picked Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens to write it.

re: Pirate Queen to close June 17

I am very sad to hear that the show is closing. I kind of had a feeling I would be reading anyday that it would be closing, because I heard from the cast themselves they were taking it one day at a time.

I know there is a lot of people out there who didn't like the show, and that's fine, everyone has their own opinion. I personally loved the show! I have been a fan of castcom since day one, and so I knew the story and the characters very well. I think one reason why I did love the show so much, was because I was familar with the show through castcom, and I thank castcom for that.
The chemistry between Stephanie and Hadley was priceless. I loved their relationship on stage, and you could totally tell they were friends outside of the stage because it really showed their relationship onstage.

The dancing was amazing also! The ensemble is one of the best on Broadway in my opinion right now.

I wish all of the actors luck in their future projects. Thank you Pirate Queen for making my New York trip last week very enjoyable, from seeing you Wed. night and then watching you play softball on Thursday! Enjoy the last week and a half of performances!
Follow your bliss! I love Will Chase! I love Lisa Brescia! I love Stephanie J. Block!

NEXT!
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. do they do rush tickets?

Student rush, and according to the OPR the new policy is 2 hours before showtime.

jv92 said: "...but the show was just awful."
Mr. Roxy responded: "An opinion not shared by all"

Me:

Mr. Roxy is right. It's just most people thought the show was awful. You know the ship is sinking when the ushers (who seem to comped regularly) can't even GIVE their comp tickets away. This was the second most horrible time I've had in a theatre. Aida was the first.

re: Pirate Queen to close June 17

I'm not necessarily surprised, but it is disappointing. I am going back tomorrow night, almost purely to see Stephanie perform again. I thought she was electrifying the first time I saw her in March. Best of luck in the future to everyone involved!

re: Pirate Queen to close June 17

I was hoping it would last thru July so I could see Steph performing on a Broadway stage. I hope she sticks with 9 to 5 if it comes to Broadway, hopefully I'll get to see her in that. re: Pirate Queen to close June 17

re: Pirate Queen to close June 17

I was really hoping that it would last through the end of their booking period. I very much wanted to see it at least once more, but there is no way I can get across the pond any time in the next 10 days.

I wish the cast well.

I'm so tempted to bump that Young Frankenstein thread so all those people that *insisted* it was making money each week and would still be doing well through October can be reminded just how wrong they were.
