Can those of you who have psychic powers to definitively predict flops please pass along the winning lotto numbers to me?
Thanks in advance :)
I think it will do great - I think the creatives know exactly what they need to change to make this show the best it can be. :)
And, I don't yet have tickets, but I will be seeing it in June or July this summer!
I'm not sure if Maltby is up to fixing the show. His latest Broadway effort was "Ring of Fire".
At any rate, Stephanie's amazing performance will make the show work for many people, in spite of any other problems it may have.
This show is going to be a hit. It has great appeal to the "Baby Boomers" who remember and enjoyed the EPIC shows. I believe with the changes it will do extremely well.
Anyway, I have tickets for April opening, June and August. I truly am looking forward to see what is put into place with new songs, dialogue and dances. Glad to see that there are some out there in cyberland who believe in its potential
It's quite easy to predict. Any new musical going into a theatre as huge as that is already at an extreme disadvantage.
Yes, but RIVERDANCE has been playing in even bigger Theatres for years and years.
I would not count this show out yet.

Nor shall I. What is wrong with the mega musical? This cast is huge and their voices and bodies fill the stage. But, the best moments are those with the talented principals who are actors first and singers second.

i have tickets for march 23rd. I can't wait. I've been following it on castcom. I don't think it's fair to start saying if it's going to flop or not. Broadway is so unpredictable. I'm a huge Hugh Panaro fan and most of us (the panarophile freaks..lol) thought Lestat would really do the job from him besides his brilliant run in phantom. and, it had elton john's name behind it. but it just didn't work. and, many critics despise musicals made out of the songs of popular pop artists (lennon, ring of fire, hot feet, etc.) but look at what happened to mamma mia and jersey boys! it's so unpredictable. and, remember, Les Mis critics in london DESPISED the show when it appeared but Cameron M. gives credit to the loyal fans who stood by it and babied it through history. And Woman In White had a lot of potential with ALW's name behind it but look at what happend to that one too! It's not really fair to judge.
people have seen this show already though... we can judge it because we've seen it. From the Overture the show was a snore and I'm really sad by that because I really do hope that it succeeds... but it just didn't work in the condition that it was in while it was in Chicago. How much could really be changed? The story couldn't have been harder to follow, the songs were painful to listen to because you couldn't understand a single lyric, and when anything happened to a character you didn't care because you didn't even know who they were. This show will be playing in one of Broadway's largest houses and I'm sure it will have a high operating cost... even if it runs for a decent amount of time - I find it hard to believe that it will recoup it's investments -- therefore, it becomes a flop. However, I do wish it well...
When I saw it in Chicago, I understood what they were singing, and the overture was quite lovely.
I agree the story needs to be more clear and we need to care more about the characters but that can be fixed.
Shows with a lot less potential have become hits after out of town try outs.

The score is gorgeous and the cast talented - it will be a hit!
I saw this show in Chicago and was so impressed with the cast. Stephanie J. Block, Hadley Fraser.....both are wonderful! And when the whole cast sang together, it was amazing....best I've ever heard a cast sound. I have tickets for April and will, hopefully, also be heading to NY sometime in the summer. I'm looking forward to seeing it again!

Will there be a cast CD? I know this has likely been asked before. But if anyone knows, please reply. Thanks.
No one knows for sure yet, but I'd be shocked if there isn't one.
I liked it in chicago, it needs some work but it should be good for b'way... I would see it again if i was in NY...
I have tickets for March. Let's see if the revisions they've made have improved the show before we condemn it to the cauldron. :)
Tickets for Easter Sunday
I'm sure I'll be able to see it through a papering service, given that the Hilton is an enormous cave and this show will never sell out.
It is a given that the critics will crap all over it as they hated Les Miz & look what happened to that. If they get the Les Miz fans, they will have a big leg up

There are so many tunes that I hum througout the day. Hadley has an aria that is just awesome and Stephanie brings down the house many time.
