Does anyone have suggestions of where to go in NYC to meet/mingle with other theatre people?
Several years ago, someone posted a thread, and I saved it on a flash drive. But then the flash drive broke, and now I can't find the thread.
Any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

kchenofan, you're link is a horrible place for theatre people to meet/mingle, since it will reject a good percentage of those fans.

me2 is asking a great question! especially if he/she is new to the city, and wants to meet new people with similar interests!
I enjoy the CHELSEA GRILL in Hells Kitchen. Great food and drink, and lots of theatre folk.

Nevermind.
Edited for snark, but also NSFW even by my standards,

Marie's Crisis. 59 Grove St. (just w of 7th Ave).
Nothing but theatre people here.
^^love it there!!
Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Center... oh wait.
Duplex, which is just a short walk from Marie's Crisis.
Drama Book Shop is also a great spot, on 40th near 8th.
Thanks for the help (both the funny ones and the real ones). I also found a few piano bar places. I don't necessarily mean Broadway performers. I'm going to be in the city for 2 weeks (one week alone); I thought it would be fun to engage in conversation with someone at least twice during that time!

Joe Allens....
Katie Finneran mentions in her Tony speech from this year that Angela Lansbury took her out to Joe Allens, whenever Im there I think "...What if I just ran into them here?"
Student Rush lines or lottos. Some people can be very chatty, though I constantly find myself standing next to the person who must spout off every single trivial fact that he or she knows about the show, the actors, the theatre or anything seemingly to secure his or her spot as the "authority" in the line.
