I wish The Understudy's was in color. Everything sort of blends together.
In the Next Room's is actually pretty hilarious.
I love the hand-drawn LCT posters/Playbill covers. They're always really beautifully drawn and colored. Well...mostly always. But the IN THE NEXT ROOM one is really nice. And funny.
the artwork for "In the Next Room" is beautiful! I would say either that, Finian's Rainbow or Oleanna has the best artwork.
The people called it RAGTIME.

Still hate the Ragtime art. It looks like a poorly-written history book.
I think it's growing on me. Still not crazy about the bedazzled font though.

Fela! at the Eugene O'Neill
I like the Off Broadway Fela! Playbill better.
Love RAGTIME's. FELA!'s is kinda blah. Could've used even more colors in the background.
I like Ragtime's, but it's honestly a little too busy for me. I wonder how it'll transfer to B&W, though.
Ragtime's playbill is awful.
Off-Broadway:
AVENUE Q (New World Stages)
LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE (Westside Theater/Downstairs)
TWO UNRELATED PLAYS BY DAVID MAMET: KEEP YOUR PANTHEON AND SCHOOL (Atlantic Theater Company, Linda Gross Theater)
I really like Two Unrelated Plays...
I think Ragtime's art works wonderfully as a poster. I'd quite like it if it were large enough to see each individual object. As a Playbill, I wish that it maybe stopped at the Statue of Liberty or something like that. It's just too busy.
Off-Broadway:
THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS (Cherry Lane Theater)
THE BROTHER/SISTER PLAYS (The Public Theater)
I really like the Two Unrelated Plays artwork.
And I don't think the Ragtime art is as hideous as others think it is...although in that NY Times photo slideshow a while back there were nicer-looking options for their artwork that they didn't use.
RACE (Ethel Barrymore Theater)
Off-Broadway:
THE ORPHAN'S HOME CYCLE (Signature Theater Company)
IDIOT SAVANT (The Public Theater)

Oh, and why is BIRDIE doing color Playbills now? I saw a group of people walking the other day holding color BIRDIE Playbills.
BIRDIE's actually had color Playbills for a while now. Probably since the last few preview performances. Since opening, Im sure... Does anyone know what New Worlds' LOVE CHiiLD looks like? I'm anxious!
Is the Next To Normal Playbill is in color? or did it go to black and white?
I saw BIRDIE the day after it opened and I didn't even think about it at the time, but I'm pretty sure my Playbill was color.
I really wish RACE had a color Playbill. That dress is so dramatic and eyecatching on the marquee.

Kelly- yes Next to Normal's playbill is still in color.

I wonder if they'll change the design when Next to Normal goes B&W.
I doubt it. But it could very well just stay in color for the rest of the run. I mean, the show opened against the odds in terms of financial success and start its run with color Playbills. Once it recoups, which I'm hearing should be soon, they'll probably just stick with color. But if they did go B&W, I doubt they'd change the design.
